I am genuinely perplexed by any 5-star reviews. Today was my 3rd and final time trying to support my local ice cream place. Two ice cream cones with 2 scoops totaled $21.40. I do believe I gasped when she told me the price. I didn't have enough cash and had to scrounge my change purse for the $1.40. I wish I was kidding but the same thing happened the first time I went about 4 years ago--I told them I had to run back to my car to find change as they are CASH ONLY. There are NO PRICES LISTED anywhere on the menu. Every time my partner has gone, they have been out of the flavors he wanted--they were out of 3 of the 3 he asked for--1 being a substitute for the 2 he wanted initially. My strawberry ice cream was bubble gum pink and tasted like Nesquik strawberry. The flavors are mediocre at best. I can't afford to support a business charging $5 per scoop. I'll save my dollars and go to Dairy Queen, Bruster's, Dell's or Page's. Best of luck Scoop, your prices are...
Read moreWhat a great surprise find! We were just freestyling around Pittsburgh's outlying areas and literally drove up to this on the way back to downtown. We were looking for a frozen custard place earlier but gave up thanks to traffic. Thank goodness. The menu is extensive, the portions huge! And visiting from California, the prices were amazing! My wife and I split a warm cookie hot fudge masterpiece. More than enough for us. The young lady helping us was very sweet and genuinely happy to serve us. An older couple, clearly locals, walked up and she immediately recognized them, asked if they wanted their regular order and it was like I was at the Cheers of ice cream parlors. That interaction speaks volumes. Btw, it's all outside counter service, but they offer a neat little seating area next to the parking lot, playing great oldies style music, with a large grassy area for the younglings to run off the sugar rush! Loved it and hope we get back...
Read moreDelicious creamy hard serve ice cream with generous portion sizes, although my ice cream had ice crystals in parts of it like it had been frozen for too long. The hard ice cream has a good amount of mix-ins and is very thick, a good quality ice cream. It was about $10 for two small bowls of hard serve ice cream, which is pretty comparable to other ice cream spots.
We parked and walked up to the storefront, but they also have a drive-thru option that was pretty busy.
They do not have any prices posted, which makes it challenging to decide what to get as they have a very extensive menu. They also don’t always have all of the hard ice cream flavors advertised in stock, though this trip they had marked with checks on the menu board which flavors were available. It would be nice to have the shopping experience be a bit more customer-friendly, especially for those of us who are new...
