When I do reviews, I try to be thorough and honest. This place was an honest 2 star experience due to many minor issues stacked on top of one another.
the service was subpar, but that is to be expected in a place like this during Mother's Day, when I went. However, the server brought creamer that had gone bad: there must have been a puncture, but anyone could have easily figured something was wrong with it when they picked it up. They also didn't refill my coffee until I asked: where if someone is going to a diner for a breakfast experience, coffee refills are pretty important.
my food tasted fine, but the person I was with got a crepe. The crepe was spongey and wet, and not in a good way. Something about how it was cooked was either too much egg or butter or not enough of something else. I am not a cook, but it tasted not done. My food was fine: but only fine and does not redeem the crepe.
the atmosphere is a classic open space dining experience: meaning lots of echo and loudness. But on top of this, we were sat next to large pane glass that, on the other side, other guests are eating. It felt intrusive and made the whole experience even more uncomfortable. Their group was directly on the other side, no space in between, as if the glass just cut the bench in two. It was a little awkward to say the least.
We did not even stay to finish our food, that is how much these little issues stacked up. I am usually not too harsh on these things, but this place truly feels like a 'two star' experience and it is only saved from 1 by the fact that all these issues are minor. But enough of them together equals a place I will not be...
ย ย ย Read morePlease do not follow the social media hype. I should have followed my gut feeling and the negative reviews. I came with my husband and ordered the chilaquiles plate, machaca plate, caramel latte/coffee, and mazapan cake. First thing that went wrong was the drink. Our waiter gave us the regular ice coffee/latte. Unfortunately, we didn't realize it until another worker came by to drop off the caremel latte. We had thought that we had received it already and told him so. He left confused. We saw him talking to our waiter were he kept pointing toward the drink, but the waiter brushed him off. Thats when we realized that we got the wrong drink. We let that slide since we had taken sips from it already. The drink was ok, quite small. The following mistake was that the chilaquiles was supposed to be with red salsa not the green salsa. Regardless, I don't think it would have made it taste better. The asada meat was burned and the beans tasted like it was coming from a can and dry. It just tasted weird. My husbands plate did taste slightly better though the machaca didn't really have any eggs like at all. For the mazapan cake, it was a tad bit dry. The cream on it was not bad though. The best part of everything was the mini conchas, but that is not worth coming here. It was also quite overpriced...
ย ย ย Read moreFood wasn't too bad. I had the chilaquiles omelet with asada . The sauce was so spicy that I could not eat it at all the Carne asada was soft and very tasty. I liked that ! My children had the Nutella waffle, and that was delicious . Hot chocolate was amazing. My husband had the Trio latte, and that was not good at all. The conchas were delicious. Now let's talk about the service. Our arrival they were very kind and accommodating since we had a wheelchair so thank you to the hostess . Our waitress was kind and had great knowledge of the food, but she lacked service. Did not take our drink order for 25 after we sat down. One of us ordered coffee, and we asked for creamer. we had to remind her 3 times. Never refill any of the drinks, including water, the entire time we were there. I can understand if it was busy, but actually, it was not that bad, and it was fully staffed. The other waiters were on top of their tables, but our waitress was too busy in the chimes on what shwantedts to do soon. We were very kind and patient, and we asked another waiter for our check, and we left That was our first time, and sadly, our last we love going to eat where we are treated with respect and not feel ignored because you are too busy in...
