Edited review 3/31/22 I've been coming here weekly. Finally found a place that offered many Italian dishes and a wide variety of options close to home. Stopped going to my regular places and been coming to Mr.z's sometimes twice a week. Stopped in today and the menu changed from a elaborate masterpiece to satisfy anyone's palate to a single page of options...... Will not be coming here anymore since they now offer what any other pizzeria in the area offers. I was so upset we decided to eat elsewhere I eat out a lot. I go to fancy restaurants frequently. I went here for the first time and I was really impressed by the large menu with many dishes. I got mozzarella sticks (delicious) their marinara sauce was actually good. Its pretty rare I find a marinara sauce that's edible let alone one I actually like. Chicken parm, chicken francese, chicken and broccoli Alfredo all were really good. I am actually impressed. The price is right and the taste of the food was really good. I will absolutely be back. I really enjoyed the food here. And the canolli cake was so freaking good. They have zeppole here (an Italian dessert) with cream....I prefer ricotta. I didn't have any because I only eat zeppole with ricotta. But everything else was delicious. And the portions were huge.

I previously gave this restaurant five stars about a year ago, I'm not sure what has changed, but it isn't for the best. We've been coming here for 5 years and for the most part the pizza has been spot on and food on average has been typical of the area, not the greatest. Since we moved here 5 years ago from a very Italian area, Italian food here is not what you expect. To each their own recipe, but pasta bolognese that looks like hamburger helper? I've never seen fish made quite this way, coming from Rhode Island I definitely know fish and chips and chowder. I couldn't take the fly constantly nagging me. Bottled beer was not cold, I was told all of the bears are the same temperature lol, so I got water. Our waitress did her best, but you should know what's on tap without having to check. Different music coming from two different areas was definitely annoying. We will come again and I will stay with three stars for now pending our next visit. Posting pictures of our food, note The two photos after the first bolognese is what it should look like. Fried pickles spot on. As mentioned, we will return but would not recommend at this time.

When you enter this restaurant it feels very dark and unwelcoming because the decor is terrible. I don't know if they were going for a shabby chic look but it comes off as old and worn out. The seat covers on the chairs at our table were cracked and the cushions are non-existent. You sink way down in them and it's very uncomfortable. I ordered the fish and chips. The fries were very good but the piece of fish I got was very small. It had twice as much batter than fish, which was crispy but also greasy. I liked the coleslaw but it was just a touch too sweet. I ordered a pear martini and that was very good. Overall, I don't think I would go out of my way to eat here but I wouldn't rule it out either. I have had some good meals here in the past.

Most times, I walk in there and the front counter people are friendly. But, when I've taken out food I have observed the staff in the back not using plastic gloves in handling food! Once, I saw a young man 30ish working in the kitchen preparing food, picking at his nose!!!! I immediately left. About 3 months back, I tried it again, ordering a gluten free pizza to take out and spoke with the owner that day about my awful observation on a previous visit. He seemed pleased and even called his son over and explained what I had said to him! The son made the pizza, I ordered but didn't wear "plastic gloves" either!!!! The toppings on this gluten free crust pizza we're skimpy and it was expensive for a pizza!!! One size only available there, that being a personal sized pizza. I tried one more time! Eating in instead. The waitress was impatient with me and was acting as though it was a bothersome task for her to come back to me because I took my time deciding. It was mid-afternoon about 3:30pm, very few were in the whole restaurant, maybe 6 people including me. I ended up walking out because she caused me to feel soooo uncomfortable. She was sighing at me, on two occassions, upon returning to my table. Everytime she spoke with me, she seemed impatiently waiting for me to order, from the time I entered the restaurant!!! I haven't been back and probably won't go back again. The owner is a very nice, friendly man. His name is Lou, if I recall. He acted extremely greatful I spoke with...

Now first off I just want to say the service was great all the people are great ..

Prices are low convenient .. but their online prices don’t match the prices on their physical menus .. they’re off by a few dollars

Now for the food .. It has very low quality .. I ordered little neck linguine with white wine sauce granted it’s not peak clam season in January but was feeling it .. the clams were a little sandy which is normal sometimes and some were cold right after being out of the kitchen .. the white wine sauce was drowning the pasta and very oily .. wasn’t a fan didn’t order a pasta soup, white wine sauce should just be enough to give the pasta some liquid coating but not drown it .. it came with a choice of soup I got New England clam chowder it was so watery and had no flavor I just passed on that .. now I know I picked an off season dish but the quality for my girlfriends spaghetti and meatballs wasn’t great either the spaghetti sauce was drying out like it was old and not loose and fresh like supposed to be and the pasta dry and stuck together .. she did say the meatballs were fine .. I came here thinking the many good star reviews would stand by the food but not certain why it doesn’t .. I hear the drinks and pizza are the hype of this restaurant .. so if you want a good bar and pizza (why the 2 stars on food I can’t knock what I haven’t tried) .. Pizza and drinks this is your place but not for anything else don’t get...
