My family, a poor walked in. We are reading and asked if we wanted anything to drink. I asked for water with muddled and lime to find out they were out of me t and I never got my . next came the salsa, which was absolutely delicious. Sadly that's the only thing that was delicious. We ordered two things of queso one with the chorizo and one plain the plain one had absolutely zero taste. We tried to mix it with the salsa and the consistency. It was absolutely sickening. My husband ordered cheese enchiladas that were supposed to come with queso sauce rice and beans said he got cheese enchiladas with a green sauce, lettuce and some sort of cheese crumbled on top. He did get the rice and beans which are also terrible and tasteless. My son ordered a kids chicken quesadilla with rice. Rice was tasteless. Chicken quesadilla tasted like something you would get from Taco Bell that I would not allow him to eat. He did not eat any of it. My dad ordered the meat fajitas, the ? paridilla? my husband asked him to include extra meat for my dad. There was not extra meat however we were charged for extra. They came with three of the tiniest tacos like street tacos when we asked for more we were charged, which wouldn't have been a big deal if the food was well fajitas didn't even come with sour cream, pico or guacamole. All of the meat was tasteless. The shrimp was like rubber. My dad was so hungry. We had to go to Whataburger after my husband ordered me Carne Asada tacos, which the server said we're so good. He would guarantee him my husband's a big guy. He never leaves his food. He ate one and a half of them left the other the meat was like rubber and tasteless. I ordered the chicken straight taco platter again. Everything came with rice and beans all of which were tasteless and all left. We got our bill and it was $106 for crap absolute disgrace and place wasn't even welcoming. We will never be going back to see the lease. I would highly not recommend this place. I guess the guarantee on the food didn't end up mattering because we were never even asked how the food was normally I would've said something, but my husband asked me to keep my mouth shut. Don't waste your time or your money. We'll be sticking...
Read moreExquisite! First let me dispel negative reviews! Don’t pay attention to them! Maybe they were looking for Tex-Mex… this place is not that! And thank goodness! This is Chef inspired Mexican cuisine! Starting with the salsa and chips. The salsa is an authentic Mexican sauce/salsa made with love from dried chiles! It takes hours to prepare and it is delicious! The chips are not those thin TexMex cantina chips, they are the thicker more flavorful with texture. Now the queso, we had the Choriqueso! OMG!😳 Again, not processed American cheese TexMex! This lovely to die for queso is made with four Mexican cheeses carefully prepared with chorizo, poblanos and mushroom. Don’t let this fool you or get away with not trying it! The flavors combined are “not” what you think! Amazing! Finally, my wife and I split the Chile Relleno with chicken. My my my! This ain’t your mama’s! It’s the absolute best relleno we’ve ever had, from the portion to the wonderful cheese and hand shredded seasoned chicken covered with the sauce that is from heaven… it’s a rich, flavor bomb but yet delicate and beautifully spicy! And the sides of rice and beans (you can also have the vegetables) are not typical, they are a true accompaniment complimentary to the dish! We had to meet Chef Rafael De Loa who has over 30 years of culinary experience infused with international culture. His passion for food is infused with scratch made delicious delightful heart felt and soulfully inspired creative dishes. He has served as a head chef at one of the most prestigious restaurants in Dallas! Soulful and heart warming cuisine! As I stated before … Exquisite! The best Mexican internationally infused with Chef’s creative touches! Best little restaurant in all of the metroplex! 10 ⭐️!!!! Oh, let me not forget, ice cold Modelo with chamoy/tajin dress cold glasses! The Rita’s look great, but we didn’t have one this...
Read moreI initially felt it wouldn’t be fair to rate this restaurant so soon after its grand opening. However, after some thought, I believe our experience is worth sharing.
We arrived with a large party and were seated right away. Drink orders were taken promptly, but from there, things went downhill. I quickly noticed there was only one actual server, a trainee, a busboy, and no bartender or owner present. The restaurant was nearly full, with only about four empty tables. I also saw another table receive their food just as we arrived, yet they waited over 20 minutes after finishing their meal just to get their check.
At that point, I knew service was going to be an issue. When our food finally arrived, some orders were incorrect. However, we didn’t make a fuss—just ensured that everyone received what they had ordered. The food itself was excellent! While different from the traditional Mexican flavors we’re accustomed to, it was still delicious. The real issue wasn’t the food—it was the service.
As we were getting ready to leave, we noticed a couple sitting behind us stand up and start bussing tables. We assumed they were the owners, but if that was the case, it raised a major concern. Why open a restaurant and, on one of your very first busy Saturdays, not be there to support your struggling staff? If customers can recognize the issue, surely the owners should have, too.
I hope these challenges have been addressed since our visit...
