La Catrina Mexican Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Plattsmouth

I so much wanteo love this place. The decor is wonderful with interesting Mexican artwork. The server was very friendly and efficient. The food on the other hand was a different story. The portions were large and well presented. I has the chili Colirado, my sister in law had chili Verde, and my partner had beef fajitas. I took a bite of my chili Colorado, it was tender, but so bland, no depth of flavor. I'm not talking hot, I'm talking no spices or flavor. I was offered a bite of the Verde, it was the same. The fajitas were too tough for my partner, so we switched. The beef was tough, and has no flavor, there was maybe 3 ounces of beef and mostly onions. The food was excellent and full of taste. Portion sizes were what you'd expect for the price and I left full. Our server did a good job checking on us and making sure our chips and salsa were full, which is complimentary by the way. Our waiter was young and seemed new but you could tell he was genuine and was trying his best. Which I personally like better than someone who seems robotic. They do charge a fee for credit cards. I love Mexican food! I moved to Nebraska from Arizona and have found only two places I enjoy in the Omaha area.

After eating at la Catrina, I now have a third place I will eat! I’m thankful for this delicious restaurant!

I had chicken mole. I’ve made mole at a culinary school in Mexico. We had a guest that was allergic to beans and they accommodated. We also had a vegetarian and she was equally pleased.
