Nestled in the middle of Pleasant Hills there is this place. It's kind of hard to find and we found it's web site by scrolling around Google Maps. We're glad we did as it is quite a gem! Four of us came out to dinner and were impressed with the food and the service. A word about the decor. It looks like a bar. For a place that has such great food, this is quite puzzling. They have a nice wine selection, a large bourbon selection, and we're told that there is a nice beer selection. So, why are the table bare and the atmosphere dark with TVs showing sports? Atmosphere takes a hit on that one... Having taken care of that, the food was amazing! We started with the spicy goat cheese appetizer. The cheese was super creamy and actually delivered on the spice promise! The accompanying flatbread was nicely warm and still soft so it worked great as vehicle for picking up the cheese and peppers. For our mains, we got the Eggplant Bolognese, the Gnocci, and the Chilean Sea Bass. Each one was absolutely wonderfully executed and tasty. All the preparations were done correctly. The gnocchi were clearly made by someone who knows how to make potato gnocchi! These were not the kind you buy in a store or get from a supplier!. The bolognese sauce was creamy and delicious and the fish with its sauce was succulent and cooked just right. Proportions were just right. We were able to finish everything but did not have room for dessert. For this kind of meal, which we did accompany with a bottle of wine and a cocktail, the price of $60 per person was exactly right. Very enjoyable dinner for our group and this is a place that we will definitely want to come back to.

Had a wonderful experience last night trying their newly revamped menu. Very thoughtful and clever flavor combos in every dish that we sampled! My absolute favs were the Bavarian pretzel (it’s MASSIVE, easily could feed 6-8ppl) which is served with the most delicious speck ham, horseradish pickles, and fabulous sauces. Seeing the high price on the menu made me hesitant, but, wow! Absolutely don’t sleep on this one! For my main dish, I went with the chicken Milanese Ceaser salad. Now, to be honest, I expected this is just be a simple (girl dinner!) salad with some sliced breaded chicken on top - NOPE. It was perfectly presented (see photos) and a generous portion of breaded chicken breast topped with a little bit of beautiful crisp lettuce, Asiago crisps, massive croutons, and the lightest, yet most flavorful Cesar dressing that I’ve ever had. Everyone at our table raved over this dish. I also tried bites of the pork chop (perfectly cooked, beautiful presentation). The bruschetta chicken pasta (that lemon cream sauce - chefs kiss!) and the mushroom strudel (perfect fall dish!). My only complaint was that the calamari was a touch over cooked, but the flavor was great. My compliments to the chef and the staff as they were absolutely slammed due to the relaunch and they didn’t miss a beat. Our server was so kind, helpful, and attentive and we never even had to ask for a refill or a sharing plate. She was 10 steps ahead of us! Can’t wait to come back soon and try the rest of the menu!

I was pleasantly surprised by 7 twelve. The main reason why I'm giving 4 stars is because parking is valet only and it would be nice to have a choice; especially because it's not a restaurant that I would exactly consider high end although higher end than many. We had a reservation and we got seated immediately. When we went on a Saturday at 6pm, it was probably at half capacity but it got busy soon after. The atmosphere could be described as sophisticated but not pretentious. The bar is the main feature and I love the light on the liquor shelves, very dramatic. The walks are a dark blue and a dusty light blue I think, the lights were dim and I think they dimmed them even more as the evening progressed. Our server was very professional and the staff is clearly well trained. The food was good. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the glazed paired beautifully with it. The herb risotto was delicate and light. My husband got a medium rare stake, they make sure you cut into it and are satisfied with it and it looked perfect but when he got to the thicker part it was rare leaning on blue, which is how I eat it but not my husband's preference. The taste though was delicious and so was the chowder and the vegetables dou jour that that day were baby carrots. They have a decent selection of local beers and the feature cocktails are good. The 712 Smash was absolutely delicious. Prices might be considered high but honestly the food is so good that it's all worth it.
