My cousin & I have visited this location (Dunkin Donuts, 401 County Rd 539, Cream Ridge, NJ), a couple of times and sadly, the experiences we've encountered, have not gotten any better. During our most recent visit (July 2018) we were waiting in line to place our order and the patrons in front of us were greeted by the employees (all Caucasian). When we approached the register, we were not greeted at all (we are Hispanic), and most importantly, were rudely asked about what we were interested in ordering. The young lady Claire had no shame in showing her disdain in assisting us and made no effort in being polite, or even professional for that matter. When we received our food order, both were not properly prepared. The croissant I ordered was completely burnt and had a mound of butter inside, making it inedible. Then our change was basically dropped in my hand (as opposed to be handed to us) as if we had some type of contagious disease. It was quite apparent that the behavior and incorrect order were definitely intentional. Then, the entire staff huddled in the back of the facility (while we were still inside) and then came back out laughing and carrying on.
As opposed to making a scene and being rude to them (as they were to us), we decided to leave the store (we are young, professional, business owners who refused to behave in the manner in which they were behaving). To add insult to injury, on our way out of the store, one of the employees got on the drive through speaker and began to condescendingly chant, "Byyyye, Byyyye", making it obvious they were happy we were leaving the store. We came back into the store and asked to speak to a manager and the response we received was "We don't have a manager here."
First and foremost, it is extremely disheartening that such things are continuing to occur every day in our society. We are American citizens (born in the USA), and should not be treated differently because of our ethnic background. We (minorities) have fought for this country and have sacrificed our lives for America.
Given other Google reviews, it is apparent this behavior is a common occurrence in this particular location. To the unknown manager and owner of the Dunkin Donuts in Cream Ridge, NJ, a note…SHAME ON YOU for employing individuals who treat paying customers this way. Employees like Claire (and the entire staff working) should not be employed by your company (or any other company for...
Read moreThis is my go-to Dunkin’ on my drive to work, and I usually order the same thing every time—an everything bagel toasted with butter and cream cheese and sometimes a iced coffee to go with it, a perfect pair. I don’t mind paying extra for the cream cheese since it adds a little protein to my meal, but unfortunately, I’ve had a recurring issue with them charging me for it and then not including it. Today, they were out of everything bagels (which is to be expected around 12:30 pm because they sell out farely fast), so I got seasame instead. There were no other cars at the drive thru at the time.
There have been multiple instances where I’ve had to drive 25 minutes back from on my way to work just to have my order corrected, and at least three other times when I was charged for cream cheese but never received it. At this point, it’s not just about the extra $0.50—it’s the principle of paying for something and not getting it. In New Jersey, people take their bagels and cream cheese seriously!
Another frustrating experience was when I handed my card to pay, they charged it, handed it back without a receipt (which they frequently do), then closed the window—only to return minutes later claiming I hadn’t paid. I showed proof of the charge on my phone before they acknowledged it, with hesitantation.
On top of order issues, I once went inside and saw roof water leaking onto the Dunkin’ coffee thermoses being displayed and sold. There was a puddle of dirty water pooling on the floor, and the employees were too overwhelmed with orders to even address the safety hazard. It seems like upper management isn’t supporting their staff or maintaining the building properly.
Service-wise, I understand they get busy, but I’ve noticed that the employees often don’t engage much at the window. Meanwhile, I’ve seen them chatting with other customers they seem familiar with, yet when I approach with my usual bubbly personality, I barely get a word in return.
I really wish this location would work on order accuracy and customer service consistency and basic store maintenance. I keep coming back because it’s convenient, but these repeated issues make me reconsider. Hopefully, management sees this and takes...
Read moreI walked in to order, and there was no one at the register. All employees were at the drive-through window, I ordered at a touch screen next to the register, One black coffee, stood there for a while and continued to be completely ignored by all staff which was 100% focused on drive through customers. After a while, I managed to get one of them to respond, and they said my order was in line behind all the car's orders in a not so friendly manner. Why don't they just lock the front door? The walk-in service is horrible! There was no regular sugar at the self-serve station, only artificial sweetners. And they have the audacity to have a tip jar in the counter, which is atended to by no one, except a touch screen. This whole coffee purchase was like a seen from a distopian TV series or movie. Jeeesh. Oh, and I think I got jiffed, the midnight black coffee I ordered was weak, just like their regular coffee. I've had midnight coffee brew at other DDs before, and it's supposed to be much stronger. There was no one to complain to anyway. Might as well staff this DD sitting area with self-serve coffee machines and AI voices...
