It's all about who you know.
We'll start with the good. The food was very good. Our server, Tiara, as well as the other servers and busboys working the outdoor deck were all great. They were constantly around and making sure we didn't need anything.
Now the not so good, the manager DJ. When we arrived, we were told it would be approximately one hour wait, which we were fine with. We informed the hostess that our preference was to sit outside, but would take whatever was available first. After about 45 minutes, my wife checked in with the hostess regarding the wait. We were told that there were two parties ahead of us and it shouldn't be too much longer. After a few minutes, another couple walked in and checked in the with host stand, as well as the manager DJ. It was obvious that they were regulars. After a brief conversation, DJ told them that he would get them seated right away. He then proceeded to move an empty table to an area in the bar and had the couple seated. My wife asked the hostess why the couple who just walked in were giving a table before us. She was told the bar area was first come first serve. When my wife asked why that option wasn't giving to us, the hostess did not have an answer. She then proceeded to tell her that once the two parties ahead of us were seated, we would be. Sensing that we were obviously annoyed, the hostess got DJ's attention. He then came over to us and said that if we didn't feel like waiting any longer, he could find us a table outside. My wife informed him that was our preference. He then proceeded to take us to the outside deck where there were three empty tables. As we finished our meals, DJ came out to the outside deck to speak with his staff. On the way back inside, he stopped next to our table to pick up a fork that had fallen on the ground, without saying a word to us. He could not even ask how our meal was, did we need anything, or even just make small talk, as...
Read moreFrom the moment we sat down the experience was great. Our server, Devan, was pleasant, friendly and accommodating.
We started our meal with bread and oil that was fantastic. I think the bread was covered with rosemary.
We then got the clam chowder that was full of clams and had a bit of a kick to it. Our youngest got the macaroni and cheese (which Devan freely admitted was the Kraft kind).
Our oldest got the adult version that had 4 different cheeses. It was amazing. She got the best if the meals by far.
My wife got the bone-in ribeye steak medium. It was advertised as having portabella mushrooms and she thought they would be more noticeable than they were. (This and my gripe mentioned below are the only reasons I did not give this place five stars). However, the lack of mushrooms did not take away from the succulent flavor of the meat. It was like there was a party in my mouth when I tried it.
I had the shrimp and scallop duo over linguini with spinach and tomato. The veggies were not to soggy and the seafood was grilled just right. My only gripe is that they do not remove the tail shells from the shrimp. However, not many places do. Nevertheless, everything tasted perfect.
Lastly, the kids saved plenty of room for dessert. The youngest got ice cream which came with his meal. He was rewarded for his audacity to ask if he could have both vanilla and chocolate when asked which of the two he wanted. Thr oldest got a molten lava chocolate cake with ice cream, whipped cream and strawberries. I love warm chocolate cake and sometimes it is hard to get the molten lava cake just right. It was not difficult here. It was warm and moist to perfection.
This is a must...
Read moreTL;DR : Great restaurant with nice outdoor seating and delicious seafood dishes. Recommend: Calamari, Seafood Fra Diavolo, BBQ Brisket Sandwich. Pass: Clam Chowder.
We highly recommend the outdoor seating patio if the weather is good since it has a nice airy feel to it.
Items we ordered (as of 6/2022): New England Clam Chowder - $8 - I don't know if it was just our dish or if it is meant to be this way but it was VERY thick. The thick consistency didn't make for an enjoyable eating experience on its own (though it was okay when used as a "dip" for the complimentary bread). Also was a bit too salty for us. Seafood Fra Diavolo - $19 - If you are a seafood lover then definitely get this! The portion size and quantity of seafood was fantastic for the price and the fact that it comes out on the pan they cooked it in was a very nice touch. Fantastic flavors and perfectly cooked! The Ultimate BBQ Brisket Sandwich - $18 - Pretty good (though very heavy!). I'm very glad it came with a lot of pickles (both on the sandwich and a wedge on the side) as it's very rich in flavor. Be aware that it's messy to eat! Fried Rhode Island Calamari - $16 - This was awesome. Great quantity and the remoulade dipping sauce had a very nice kick to it. Would get this again.
Special shoutout to the complimentary bread they provide (which is rare especially for a lunch service). Very soft and delicious and the olive oil dipping sauce was great as well.
Overall we were very happy with the service and experience and would...
