Daljeet and team have created a tasty and sophisticated dining option at Plymouth with the Clay Oven. We were there at around 9:00pm on a Monday night so not many other people were there, but in my previous two visits the restaurant was packed. The staff works hard and actually takes a lovely, smiling, personal approach to their service which is fun and welcoming. Charles was awesome in making sure we ordered in time so they could prepare all the hot food we needed (given the late hour), took time to take a picture for us (with our out of town visiting family), and never made us feel rushed! I again ordered the sarson ka saag and makke dee roti - and it was tasty!! The roti was tasty and well made and the saag had the perfect spice level and taste for us - we ordered medium. The kadhai paneer was tasty with a slightly sweet touch which was very nice! I also tasted the chicken rasa upon my husband’s urging, and that was also different in taste and quite tasty. And then Charles urged us sweetly to order dessert so we did - and my family loved the kulfi falooda!! My personal preference would be to have an option where the rabri could be a little less sweet to balance the overall sweetness of the dish but i did enjoy the dish. Complements to the chefs! Of course the ambience continues to be a welcoming, sophisticatedly decorated, very clean place to go to. I should also mention that the visiting family lives in Delhi - so are very used to very tasty North Indian food similar to what we ate yesterday, and they also enjoyed it! :). Overall a wonderful experience! Thank you to...
Read moreI recently dined at Clay Oven and was thoroughly impressed by the bold flavors of the food. Having read some reviews mentioning a lack of spice, I can confidently say that was not my experience. The flavors were incredibly vibrant, and I'd put Clay Oven's food among the best Indian cuisine I've had in Minnesota, and even in the top three of all the Indian restaurants I've tried across multiple states. The naan was a highlight—light and fluffy rather than thin and crispy, a perfect complement to the meal. The mint chutney was also exceptional; it was fresh and had a consistency similar to a finely diced salsa, not a creamy sauce. I've only ever found a similar style of chutney at Star of India in St. Cloud.
A Note on the App Before ordering, I downloaded the app and added my card information. I was curious to find that my recent $80 order wasn't reflected in my order history. I'm wondering if the rewards program and order tracking only apply to orders placed directly through the app. It would be great to see that purchase count towards my rewards. Despite this small question about the app, my experience was fantastic. I'm already looking forward to returning to try more dishes and highly recommend Clay Oven to anyone who loves authentic Indian food in the Twin...

I had high hopes for Clay Oven, expecting a taste of authentic Indian cuisine, but unfortunately, my experience was a major letdown. From the moment the food arrived, it was clear that quality was not a priority here. The dishes lacked the rich, bold flavors Indian food is known for. The curry was bland and watery, the tandoori roti was cold and rubbery, and the dosa tasted like it had been reheated multiple times. Even the simple dishes, like manchurian and dahi puri, were greasy and lacked freshness. The best part of the food was Coke ngl. Service aside, the real issue was the value for money—or rather, the lack of it. For the prices they charge, the quality and portion sizes were appallingly poor. I left the restaurant feeling like I had been overcharged for food that tasted like it came from a cheap takeout, not a sit-down restaurant. If you're looking for great Indian food, this is not the place. Poor food quality and lack of value make Clay Oven an experience I wouldn't...
