We have been to this bakery quite a few times now but unfortunately, today will be our last. Prior to today, we were always greeted warmly by the female owner who always had a welcoming smile and friendly nature. Although she was there today to attend to us and was her usual gregarious self, her very rude husband passive aggressively reprimanded us for touching the glass display counter when we pointed to show which baked goods we wanted to purchase. We were taken aback by his behavior! At first I thought, I must have heard him wrong, so I asked my husband if the (male) owner said something and to my surprise, the owner confirmed it by coming out from behind the counter, started spraying the glass case, and snarkily told us that he has OCD when he sees fingerprints on the glass. Adding “it makes him want to pull his hair out”. I was aghast by his rude and unprofessional behavior and offended because unlike him, I happen to have been diagnosed with OCD and it is insulting to hear people throw around the word OCD improperly and in this case, to use as an excuse for rude and unpleasant behavior. I wanted to tell him that if you do not want customers to touch the glass display counter to point out what they want, then 1) put a sign not to touch the glass 2) put names on the baked goods that you are selling. If the items you are selling do not have names, customers will have the natural inclination to point to the item that they want. Additionally, you are running a bakery, not a museum. I have been to business establishments in the area and have never been reprimanded for touching a glass display case. What a...
Read moreI don’t like leaving negative reviews, but I feel it's important to share my experience with the cake I ordered. I chose the 'funfetti' cake for my friend’s birthday, specifically because she loves funfetti. She was thrilled when she saw the sprinkles all over the sides and exclaimed, 'Oh my god, you guys got me funfetti!?' However, when she cut into it, we were all a bit disappointed to see that there were no sprinkles inside the cake batter itself. Leaving us with a vanilla cake. While I know that sprinkles don't change the flavor much, they do add a special touch that was missing.
Beyond that, the cake itself wasn’t to our taste. Though it was moist, it was very sweet—almost like a grocery store cake, but with a heftier price tag. Unfortunately, I noticed many unfinished slices around the room, which further indicated that others felt the same.
We also tried one of their chocolate peanut butter to-go cake cups, but we only had a bite each.
The staff was friendly and pick-up was seamless, but based on this experience, I’ll likely look for a different bakery...
Read morePocono Desert Co. supplied our deserts and sweetheart cake for our November wedding. I keep saying that it's a good thing we live 2 hours away or I would literally be there every weekend getting goodies. Their display at our wedding was absolutely perfect. We had an array of goods that our guests enjoyed so much, so much that our venue had to have a body guard stand in front of the display because it was so appealing! People kept sneaking deserts before it was time, so funny. They thankfully gave us a bride & groom box to enjoy as well, or else we wouldn't have much because it all went so fast! Tracey was an absolute gem to work with and was so quick to respond. A week before the wedding we decided on a whim to add additional quantities, Tracey had no issues and was happy to add to our order. I will happily stop by whenever I am in the area again and will be sure to use them again for any future events. I will also be adding photos of the display...
