Village Pizza Inn — Restaurant in Point Pleasant

I'm giving 2 stars for our server and that's it and I'm being generous but she was extremely polite and friendly and did her job absolutely correctly. We ended our vacation home to Ohio from myrtle beach to see the mothman museum and see point pleasant and wanted to eat at a local place instead of a chain or fast food. We picked this place due to their reviews. We walked in and there was nobody there and at least 5 employees standing there and nobody said anything to us. We had to approach the employees to seat ourselves. The food was not good. Frozen everything. My chicken parm came with noodles, frozen garlic bread and at best canned generic pasta sauce aka "their signature homemade sauce"...I'm Italian and make all my own sauces and this sauce was bland, tasteless and generic. On top of it, the chicken was 3 frozen chicken tenders w mozzarella cheese on top. It was literally the same chicken tenders my picky eating son ordered and he didn't like them either. The loaded tots weren't cooked all the way through and it was like a slop of cheese, frozen peppers and just not good. The cheeseburger pizza my other son got was mediocre at best as well. Ive had non cooking friends that make homemade pizza for fun make a better pizza. I'm not trying to be mean and didn't wanna make a thing while there especially for our waitress bc it's not her fault but I'm finding it hard to believe these reviews I've read about this food. It's crappy bar food at best and very over priced. If you want to price your food as high as you do, at least provide quality restaurant food. This was all frozen and ready to make food and we were the only ones there. Point pleasant was small and had very few options and we choose your place. We even told the employee that finally sat us we were from out of town etc. I believe in good business and this was a total waste of $$$ I'm sorry. I think you should get yourself a real chef or reword your menu which talks up your food slot. Very false advertisement. I am editing my review and score. Here is my prior review: My wife and I enjoy supporting small business, but this place not only gets our business in our efforts to support local, but they earned it with great service, great food, and fair prices.

New review: The female manager with white hair made it very clear to me that she has been managing there for 23 years. I was so embarrassed for the staff and owners (I sure hope they don't encourage her management style). I watched her berate her staff of young ladies and talk down to them "One of you two GET off the clock!!!" She was so rude to them and I felt bad for the owners to have someone represent their brand in such a bad way. I enjoyed our fantastic food and then asked to talk to her. I was very polite and addressed to her what I saw. She talked down to me! I suggested she should manage through encuragement not through intimidation. She then pulled 2 employees over to ask if she intimidates them?!?!?! I was shocked!!! The two she asked, refused to answer and quickly walked away in what looked like embarrassment. I walked away away quickly to not cause the staff anymore embarresment or stress.

Worst experience ever I had s gift card worth $20.00 I called before I ordered they said you had to go in and let them swipe the card to see the amount well I'm 20 miles away ot like I can run in and get it checked not only that we are dealing with vivid-19 so I went on like to my account access to see my amount. It said I had $20.00 so I call th back place my order they said be ready in 10-15 minutes I'm like it takes me about 40 minutes to get to you ok so I get my food they have to hand it to me through my car because you cannot go in restaurants right now then I get home tube called my house I call them back well guess what all my gift ate had on it was 20.00 it was never used my tpyaowss $19.59 and my gift card had .41 cents on it they said.
