I went into this test quite apprehensive and frankly, almost scared. Iāll soon be 76 and worked in a much much larger hospital for 18 years, ten of which were in Radiology. Iāve been retired since 2011 though. I know hospital and radiology tests/films, etc., like the back of my hand and have had 40-50 regular plus specialized tests, but Iād never had any Nuclear Medicine scans myself. However, the Technologist was extremely kind, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions professionally and was obviously knowledgeable about her job, and all my health problems, including severe debilitating injuries from a very bad fall years ago. I have extreme mobility limitations and an Rollator or wheelchair dependent at all times. She helped me on and off the table, moved my legs for me as I could not do it by myself on this hard uncomfortable table and also because I have extremely limited mobility with excruciating pain on all movements of any kind. She gave me firm foam support under my knees to alleviate excessive pressure from my injured hip, back and pelvis. She made sure I was completely as comfortable as possible for my isotope injection, plus my first and second set of scans a few hours apart. She was absolutely amazing, and she made my several hour stay at the hospital quite fun, not boring or difficult as I had imagined it would be. Iād worked at a much larger hospital for 18 years, ten of them in Radiology. Iāve had probably 50 or more films of all kinds, many specialized films, done over many years, but never any Nuclear Medicine scans. The whole experience that day at Rivers Health was quite nice, and I felt actually very pampered, definitely very well cared for from the minute I walked in until I left several hours later. The volunteers are all exceptionally nice and sweet too. They saw Iām dependent on my Rollator and often times a wheelchair. This one very kind older man remembers me and caters to me each time Iām there, as he does with my family too, especially my five year old granddaughter. He wants all of us to be well taken care of and wants to make all our wants and needs happen. He can usually anticipate our needs even without having to say a word. Heās an angel ! It began as a pretty scary visit/test, but with the extreme kindness of the volunteer right on to the Nuclear Medicine Technologist, the entire stay for several hours that day was absolutely enjoyable and felt more like a vacation than a hospital visit. This hospital is evolving into an amazing bigger and better hospital, and the volunteer along with the extremely helpful and knowledgeable NM Technologist, made my visit just wonderful. This is a mostly a rural/suburban type area where I live, but itās comforting to know this amazing hospital exists. Iād recommend it to anyone, whether you live here or are just passing through. Ā Ā Ā Read moremy husband had a dental abscess and was very ill he had went to one hospital on a Monday and went to Riverās health on a Tuesday to try to get some relief to which they prescribed him the same antibiotic that the first hospital had prescribed⦠A few days had went by with him taking this medication. It was now Thursday he arrived at the hospital, letting them know that when he was there on Tuesday, his discharge instruction said if he was bleeding from the abscess running a fever or had a headache to please return to which he did and the doctor. had insinuated that he was requesting pain medication which was not true my husband simply asked them to give him fluids and to switch his antibiotic because since he had been taking the same antibiotic since Monday and this was Thursday he should have had relief , He also asked for a blood test to make sure that he was not becoming septic due to the infection.. To watch the ER doctor kept repeating he was not an And told my husband, he would not be giving any pain Medication. That of which my husband never asked for , I even asked them to give my husband fluids Because he had only eaten twice in four days and had not drank much at all and the doctor said oh thatās not necessary without any tests done to check for low blood sugar, infection or dehydration, The doctor agreed to cut open the abscess but left my husband in the same antibiotic, refusing to change it or give him fluids, and the doctor Told him to see a dentist which he did the following morning and the dentist had to restrain the abscess because the ER doctor did it incorrectly.. Then, after my husband went into convulsions because of a high fever due to infection and low blood sugar, and also dehydration.. Which all could have been prevented if the ER doctor would not have acted like my husband was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could get enough it negative stars I would. I am currently a patient who came in with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea with stomach pains. I was admitted by doc who said it was diabetic ketosis, came in room at 6 pm. From the time I got here until now I have had diarrhea 17 times, all known to nurses. The current nurse just looked up what to give me and there is nothing ordered. I have not even seen a doctor in last 24 hours. Was told by the nurse this morning I am here because of pancreatitis and the nurse just now said I was admitted for dehydration. These people don't even know what the hell is wrong. They do not give you the proper amount of medication you take at home and then wonder why your sugar is not lowering. (I'm diabetic and the have me on clear liquids). First the liquid diet given to me consists of juice, soda and jello that all contain sugar and is not to be given by diabetics. When I have spoken to the staff about these problems the look at me and just walk away. This hospital needs shut down until they can get real staff who know what they are doing and doctors who actually care for their patients a humans and not...
