I went to eat at this Golden Corral with my son on Thursday, February 27th, 2025, 10 days after they opened their doors to the public. When we got there, there was no line but the dining area was pretty packed. It's obvious that when something new opens on the island, everyone is excited to try something different and new.
Our experience at the Golden Corral in Ponce did not disappoint. The food was great and the waiter was very nice. When he went to break, he let us know the name of the other waiter who would serve us which I really appreciated.
My son and I sat in the dining area that's towards the left side of the exit doors. We were sitting closer to the windows (hallway that leads towards the kitchen area). While we were eating, there was a waiter who made us feel beyond welcome and dare I say even special. His name is Moses/Moises. Every single time he walked past our table with a tray of dirty plates and/or cups, he would look as us both with a huge smile on his face. We thought that was so sweet because no one has ever treated us the way he did that literally EVERY SINGLE TIME HE WALKED BY, he'd flash a huge smile at us. I told my son, "I can't believe he always smiles at us every time he goes by our table." Seeing the smile on his face for the two hours we were there, made our entire day better because for those two hours, he helped us forget about everything that's going on around the world. We weren't focused on the negativity and daily news with regards to politics. We didn't even bring it up at all and that's a rarity because it's a common discussion between my son and I.
Once we finished eating, I told my son I wanted to meet Moses/Moises and thank him for his kindness. I wanted to thank him for all the times he smiled at us and tell him to "NEVER CHANGE." When we spoke to Moses/Moises, you could tell that he's truly a special guy with a genuine heart. He was so grateful for my words. I could barely put into words how he made us feel without crying. I actually did cry but that's because I am a sentimental soul. He told us, "I love my job. I love what I do. I enjoy my job the 8 hours I am here." Trust me, it shows. He's as real as they come. Golden Corral hit the jackpot when they hired him. Any restaurant would be honored to have him working for them. Thanks to him, I can't wait to go back with my son. Moses/Moises is such a vibe. He's such an uplifting guy and we need more people like that in the world.
I was able to talk to one of the big bosses and let her know how wonderful Moses/Moises made us feel. She was very nice and appreciated our positive review of Moses/Moises. I don't want to take away from any of the other waiters as I am sure they are great at their jobs. I just wanted to share how Moses/Moises made us feel. His spirit shines bright like a diamond and his smile makes you feel valued and warm inside. He made us feel like we mattered, he cared and was happy to see us there.
THANK YOU MOSES/MOISES FOR MAKING US FEEL SO WELCOME. DON'T YOU EVER CHANGE. YOU ARE THE BEST WAITER. YOU RADIATE SO MUCH JOY! I LOVE YOUR MOOD AND VIBE. KEEP SHINING BRIGHT. WE HOPE TO...
Read moreThe place opened not that long ago. This review is based on my first visit to the restaurant. It was much more crowded than expected. I had to wait in line, there were maybe 25 people in front of me and even though the large amount of people in front of me I didn’t have to wait long to get seated. To give you an idea of how much time I waited; it was around 15 minutes. Food and service were much more than excellent I give the...
Read moreThe place was clean, the food was good, and the server was absolutely amazing. The server (Jerysmar, I think) was a young lady who always had a smile on her face, super attentive. The only downside is that if you are going in a group, they do nothing to try to accommodate you. The young lady that was assigning the tables was a bit rude and couldn't care less. Also, if you're going on a weekend, the...
