Izumi Sushi — Restaurant in Ponce

Compared to other Asian food nearby, it's good (about the same?) with slightly smaller amounts, but a nicer atmosphere.

First thing I noticed was that there are a lot of bad reviews. Many people haven't liked it here, so keep that in mind.

My experience was pretty good 👌🏽

Food tastes good. Nothing special, but good, and enjoyable. Think around more or less a 7 out of 10 points.

Prices are a bit higher than other nearby spots (about $1 more).

The atmosphere is pretty good. Low lights allow for some privacy, and their tall chairs are comfy.

Decent service. We waited 30 minutes for our food, but they did get our order wrong. They quickly fixed it, thankfully, so no complaints here (so far).

Overall, if you're willing to trade a smaller portion for a cleaner and comfier place, try...

My first experience was okay.. I give it 3/5 because i ordered online and 1hr after i placed my order I went to pick up and it wasn't in process... The lady asked for my name and she didn't see it in the orders she had in front of her and that's when she realized it was an online order and saw the ticket.. no apologies. I asked how much longer since it wasn't even started she said 30mins. Come back 40min after, not done after another 15mins.

FOOD: fresh, hot, delicious, i tried their som salad 5/5 they have on their Japanese menu. Beef ramen 5/5, egg drop soup 5/5 and Thai noodles 5/5. Next order i got Dynamite roll 5/5 egg drop soup -my favorite now- and the salmon skin salad 3/5 underwhelming.

Atmosphere: calm. Lights dim. Good music. Never sat...

I needed to get out of the house. The drive to Ponce was intense with construction traffic and distracted drivers. My patience was shredded, and my nerves were on fire. I stopped at Jalapeños for a meal but I waited for 5 minutes and no one even spoke to me so I got up and left. Google told me to just go across the street for sushi. I'm so glad I did. So glad. Izumi Sushi was medicine for my soul. It's clean and modern. I was greeted by charming service with an extensive menu. Their prices are very reasonable. But nothing compares to the quality and taste of the food! I selected a bit of everything. A+...
