Very polite, seemingly limited English, no problem there. First sign of bad food (there's always exceptions to rules, this is not one of them) is when you mix foreign with American. If you split the focus between multiple ethnicities, one side is bound to dip. In this case we expected better Thai food. Orange Chicken dish, for $12.95, is nothing more than a small bunch of round chicken nuggets with some sauce squirted over it. Very possibly jarred sauce, if you were expecting everything made from scratch, sorry. The reason we think it's not made from scratch (and as long as it tastes good, that's not a fault) is because I like honey in my coffee. I ordered coffee thinking I'd get Thai Coffee but got a mug of coffee instead. I blame myself for that, for not making sure (used to other Thai restaurants where if you say you want coffee, you get Thai Coffee with the condensed milk and all that). We asked for honey and the lady went to check if she had, came back and said they didn't. My partner was surprised and started wondering how they're making the orange chicken sauce without honey since it's the main ingredient. Jarred must be the answer. The Satay chicken had good veggies, but the chicken was disappointing. 3 filés that seemed like they were marinated for a good while but cooked in fish oil cuz that's what they tasted like. The peanut sauce was this watery mix of brown stuff with a gingerness to it. I joked that melted peanut butter would've been better. Kinda what I expected after seeing the orange chicken dish first. I couldn't finish the dish, especially after taking a gander at the chopsticks I was provided: wooden (ok) but used!!!! You could see the dark stains on it from previous usage! Good thing I had opted for the fork and knife first (I'm usually a chopstick person). We didn't say anything. Ate whatever didn't make us cringe and left. Simply a place that goes into a newly started list of places never...
Read moreWas traveling from Cheyenne to Crested Butte one day. Saw this place and we were so hungry me and my girlfriend decided to stop in. We were directed to a seat quickly and then the server asked us to stand for a minute so she can wipe down the table. No problem here yet. "Sorry, sorry," she kept saying. Why are you apologizing so much? When we sat at the table it became more clear to us, the rag she was using to wipe down the table was a week old and/or used to clean their own feet. After she wiped down the table (which was already clean) it literally smelt gross and felt sticky.
We ordered a pad thai, and when she asked if i want it spicy i said "yes, yes i want it spicy. Yes I want it THAI spicy. Yes I have had spicy food before. Yes, for the last time!" and she replies with "OK, ill just put the spice on the side then." WTF!! WHY WOULD YOU ASK ME IF I LIKE SPICE? HOW MANY TIMES MUST I SAY YES FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND? Her English was not good, but yes is pretty universal.
So i got my pad thai--spice on the side--and found a beautiful garnish of TWO HAIRS placed ever so delicately atop the pile of crummy pad thai. And the pad thai itself was anything but authentic, using the same flat noodles used in chow fun dishes at chinese restaurants, and whatever sauce was used to flavor the pad thai was cheap, pre-packaged, and NOT AUTHENTIC. these other people must have had pad thai somewhere else, or had a clothes pin over their nose to keep out smell and taste, but this...
Read moreI will never go here again ..avoid..the food was not so good, the ice cream shake was a joke with half of the total weight being 2 big chunks of ice..what a cheapskate. When she brought us the bill she demanded that we pay immediately and was very rude about it, standing there until we produced the credit card, as if she suspected we were going to pull a dine and dash, I was passing through town and regret that I didn't go with my initial choice..a Mexican restaurant..dang bad choice. While we were waiting for our food one customer left their entire pad thai untouched, it must have been that freaking bad.. we did eat everything and I was really grossed out by the pork that I ordered with my green curry (with frozen vegetables.,yuck), it tasted old can't believe this place has managed to stay in business for over 35 years, I got a feeling that they survive on fresh tourists because once you go here once, I doubt you will want to return. Very unattractive building, as if it was set up yesterday and in a big rush. I want my money back.regret leaving a 16% tip, they deserved about a 0% tip. Please drive right by, there are better choices...
