We typically love this place. But Sunday was a bit lackluster for us. My husband and I don’t get to have a date night often and when we do, we are extremely particular of where we go. There was a very specific reason why we chose Nest and when we were researching online, we did not see that the dinner menu would not be available at all. We did see that brunch was served all day, but no where did we see that brunch is the ONLY option for Sunday. When we were told we could not choose a dinner, we were extremely disappointed. Our server had this “sorry, not sorry” kind of demeanor that was extremely off putting. I asked the server if they had just regular French fries because I saw were the sidewinder fries that I didn’t really want and he said yes so we ordered a side. We were the only people in the restaurant(other than a lady at the bar), yet our meals took SO LONG. And he ended up bringing the sidewinder fries which to me are not regular fries. But whatever, I wasn’t going to fuss about them. It was just yet another disappointment to our evening. It took the server so long to come back to check in on us and he really only checked in like once throughout our entire meal and it was towards the end. Once we were all cleared- he took FOREVER to bring our check. Again- other than the lady at the bar- we were the only ones in there so the length of time he took was a bit ridiculous. When the check finally arrived, we noticed the half priced bottle of wine we got. What a nice surprise. When he took our card he said “oh, did you know we had half priced bottles of wine today?” I told him that we figured that out when we saw the check. The fact that he never mentioned that as our server just showed his lack of care. Had we known ahead of time, he could have gotten another bottle out of us. It’s his job as a server to let guests know of all specials of the night. I work in the restaurant business and I have served before and I just expect more from a place like Nest. We just left feeling so unfulfilled and sad about our night. Just really sucked because, who knows the next time we will get the chance to get out again without kids. One thing is for sure- we will never go to Nest on a Sunday again which is unfortunate because our date nights typically have to happen on Sundays.
Side note: the fact that this business doesn’t respond to reviews is appalling. Just shows your...
Read moreCame here for brunch on a Sunday, and it was quite busy. We made a reservation, which if you're planning on visiting I recommend, especially if on a weekend. They have an extensive menu with multiple vegan options too.
Atmosphere is great, beautiful outdoor area and nice facility. It was a little loud but it was very busy.
The food was absolutely delicious. I got the vegan french toast and loved every single bite. Everyone from our party very much enjoyed their food and I felt like it came out in a timely manner despite the large crowd. I definitely want to come back and either get what I got this time or try another one of their vegan dishes as their kitchen does a great job creating delicious and quality meals.
The service was alright. Our server was very nice and helpful, but we weren't checked on very often, especially after getting our food. Some of us got soft drinks in the beginning but were never offered refills. The water decanter on the table went pretty quickly as many of us were drinking water and it was not very cold. Someone from our party ended up going to the bar to ask for a cup of ice for the table. My fiance ordered a Nest Mary which is supposed to come with garnishes such as bacon and a hard boiled egg, but when it was brought out it had nothing on it but a wedge of lime. When he asked about the garnishes the server seemed a little annoyed but brought the drink back and had it garnished, but without the deviled egg. She said the egg would be out shortly but it never arrived. As I mentioned I got the vegan french toast, and listed underneath the item on the menu it lists out vegan sausage. When we received the check there was a $5 upcharge for vegan sausage. I was a little confused since it was listed underneath as part of the meal as to why there was an upcharge, so I checked with the server. They seemed a little annoyed but took the check back to ask about the charge and they were kind enough to remove it, which I appreciate. Now, I will say again that this was a Sunday and it was quite busy. This very well all could be due to a busy morning and potentially being short staffed, so I totally understand that may be the case.
Overall we had a good experience and I'm very...
Read moreI reserved a table at this establishment for 1pm on Sunday 8/22. I arrived on time. I was seated promptly. The atmosphere is beautiful….however that did not makeup for the AWFUL service. The wait staff is okay however management has no clue what they are doing. After two hours we are still being told our food has not even began to be prepped. Try keep saying the kitchen is behind. I understand but 2 hours and not one thing….. that’s beyond backed up. We ordered brunch which is pancakes etc it literally takes nothing to prepare. After 3pm…. And I am still waiting for this manager “Jessica” to come out. She says she is too busy. So you can’t handle your establishment and you can’t even make time for the guest who patron your establishment and in all aspects make it possible for you to even have a management position at this restaurant. As an Executive in the retail industry this is not at all acceptable and if she were and employee of mine she would be looking for new employment. I wrote a very successful blog and had been told about this place to come do a live review…. And I still will. Unfortunately it won’t be a great one like I had planned which is very unfortunate as the grounds are beautiful. Maybe Nest Kitchen should find management that cares about the guest as much as the landscapers care about the grounds. I will NOT be returning. And I will NOT recommend this establishment to anyone. They have still not come out to even try and resolve this matter. The manager is not managing anything and it’s obvious. She is simply putting out fires and not solving any issues which is not the sign of a true leader. For this to be in such a very established neighborhood this is beyond disappointing and in some ways seems very typical of places with a more “privileged” guest as their regular patron. It is not acceptable. I will be sharing this review on all social media platforms and my blog. A manager came and she is pregnant. Claims she is not Jessica md just got here. We were not offered anything. Just unacceptable. . This place is very ridiculous. They claim it’s like this every Sunday which does NOT make the excuse any better. I’m completely done...
