Lost my business permanently. Karen was very rude to my family we paid for our meals that came with salads when the order was brought they had forgotten one of the salads no problem just wanted the food we paid for you tip as soon as you sign we gave her a $20 on an 80 tab.Im in the service industry and I don’t ever treat my guests or regulars rudely at all. A different girl came to bring orders she said she was new no problem we just need the two orders we made when they came back we had asked for tarter sauce and lemon butter when she returned she comes back and states you guys are running us around you need to tell us what you want at the beginning and not run people around! I said excuse me? You forgot my food and you brought out two separate orders we asked for our items when you came with our order we had not been in there for more than 20 min and I had enough of her treating me less than everyone else she greeted. Why was my Hispanic family any different then everyone else that came in? She gave us ugly look as soon as we came in when i talked to the manager she states we’re sorry it’s busy and she’s kind of a “hot head” she’s been working 12 days straight and has been frustrated I apologize for her behavior. I told her I am a waitress as well and I don’t ever treat my guests this way how will a server make money being rude to people? This is my first day off in 3 weeks as well I am on vacation with my family we tipped right at the door why is she even being rude to us at all? I understand being short staffed I have been through it too but that is not excuse to he blatantly rude and disrespect to your guests when we were happy to dine we came in hungry and I always come because the food is delicious but after my experience I felt as though she might have been racist because I did not see her treat anyone but my HISPANIC family this way I am proud of the color of my skin and because you chose to be hateful to a person you will lose our business my friends and family that also visit Port A will also be staying away for the way you treated us Im letting everyone know how badly you treat those who support your business very disappointed in my experience will never...
Read moreWe came here for the $18.99 shrimp basket which is now $21.99 and it should be $17.99 like Brewster's street Ice House in Corpus Christi that has the same kind of self serve restaurant/pub setup but Brewster's is 1000 times better & the shrimp is way bigger. Brewster's indoor game table works and is open and inviting, unlike the pool table, covered & with stacks of cardboard boxes all around it at Kody's which makes me feel like I'm eating in a storeroom. Also, there is a "fee" added to your bill for using any card. They don't tell you before you pay though. I actually had cash I could have paid but the tiny sign was hidden by decorations & I was already overwhelmed by having to figure out what to do to order food in the first place because we made the mistake of sitting down first & not a single person talked to us or even made eye contact. I love escape room type games so it was actually fun trying to find the clues, finally saw the sign hanging above the bar saying " ORDER HERE" & I followed the signs to order for our table. We will know next time. The vibe at Kody's is that the employees must be underpaid and overworked which makes them unenthusiastic and not super happy at their job. The owner/managers are charging way more for food here than 2 years ago and it must be going into pad their pockets only because the place needs upgrades, cleaning, maintenance and higher wages for the staff that apparently are not happening or they would feel more appreciated &, in turn, show more appreciation towards their workplace & customers, I can tell when people are not happy to work & it comes across in many too ways at this place. I hope these people have a...
Read moreIf you read anything about this restaurant in advance, expect to be disappointed. The website promises great food and family fun.In reality, it’s a dimly lit bar with two empty claw games, a Galaga machine with a table in front of it, and a covered pool table. There was some very basic mini golf out front. We reviewed the menu on the restaurant’s website before deciding where to eat. Hubs had decided on a ribeye served with bleu cheese mashed potatoes and fried asparagus. I was torn between scallops and crab legs. Turns out none of those is on the current menu except the fried asparagus; the woman at the counter said the website menu hadn’t been correct in three years. So hubs ordered a Grouper basket ($19.99), which he enjoyed. I ordered a crab cake ($6.99 up $2 from their website menu) and fried asparagus ($9.99 for five spears, up $3 from the website). The crab cake had good crabby flavor, but was too spicy to enjoy more than two tiny bites. The fried asparagus was either canned or overcooked; it was mushy under the crispy breading which, if served alone, would have been the best part of the meal. Besides being more bar/hangout than fun family restaurant, Kody’s was not the kind of place we would return to. We ordered at the counter and seated ourselves at a table against the wall. We sat for a few minutes before hubs looked up and asked if I was being dripped on. I looked up and sure enough, the air vent above me was polka dotted with condensation. Thank goodness the place was only half full (at 6 p.m. on a Friday night in July), so the table options were many. Since the restaurant we’d gone to Wednesday evening had a two-hour wait, we...
