We had a wonderful time on April 22, 2022, experiencing the Port A Community Theater's performance of, "Grumpy Old Men- the Musical." The theatee is small, but seating was comfortable. Concessions included popcorn, snacks, soft drinks and a full bar. The performance was great. Very heartfelt. The singing was not always pitch-perfect, but that was fine! The set designs were really well done, and the actors moved things around under dim lighting between sets. All-in-all, this was an excellent production, both hilarious, and sad at times. Especially well acted was Grandpa Gustafson, played by veteran actor, Emily Regier. The stand out singer was Debra Miget-Aguilar, playing Ariel Truax. Really, the entire cast was great, with also emotional performances by Rick Adams, Tod Murphy, Jessica Albert, and Deborah Clark. BTW, this is not a "family" show as there are some lewd references! My two photos showing me, Deborah Clark, Rick Adams, Tod Murphy,...

The cast was lively, and were having fun on stage. Whoever cast Emily Regier as "Grandpa" probably took a chance, but it was genius.
Doors opened 30 minutes prior to the beginning, which is plenty of time to find a seat. I suggest the seats on the risers. Not only can you see over the heads of those in front of you, these seats have arm rests with drink holders. However, the stage is high enough that every seat in the house is probably great.
Concessions are reasonably priced. Restrooms are small, but there was never a long line at intermission. My only reason for not giving them all 5-stars was because the company needs a vocal coach. Most of the singers could use some help learning to sing on-key.
Fun evening! We would...
Read moreI can only give 3 stars because we went to a Fleetwood Mac cover band, and the singers microphone was turned up too loud for the kind of voice she had and the music was alright, I would have liked to hear that instead a little more proportionally. Also the our pre bought tickets said the show started at 7 so when we got there at 6:30 we waited outside for the doors to open, which was fine because they have plenty of outdoor seating in front, but after going inside and choosing our seats, we sat there for another hour waiting for the show to start. I found that the aisle seats were very narrow and too close together, and most of the floor seats reserved. One of the things I did like was that they served alcoholic beverages for donations only, so...
