10 months ago I gave this restaurant five stars. I have to change that today. They decided to raise their price on the dish that I normally like to buy. That's fine, prices do change. There's nothing wrong with raising your prices. However, they did not change any of their menus. They all still had the old prices. So, because I brought this discrepancy to their attention they went ahead and honored their old price. this would have been good customer service. I generally take my order to go, but this time when I looked down in my bag none of the lids were on any of the sides and all of the red beans and rice dumped all over the bag. All the juice from the green beans dumped out. They ruined the Meal. If it meant that much to them to charge the extra for the sides then they should have just charge the extra for the side. I had placed my order anyway even though they were raising the price. It shouldn't be too much for a business to apologize and say, "I forgot to change the menus but we changed everything in our system already for the new prices this year." They could have even said, "our menus are on order and hasn't come in yet." But to throw a customer's food in the bag like you're feeding dogs.... I will not be back to that establishment. If they didn't do it on purpose, they should have at least made sure that the lids were secure on a to-go order. Side note: they upgraded to colored containers with their business name on it. They could have kept the cheap plain white ones and upgraded to better carry out bags. A business's priority should always be to take care of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I can give the rating a big fat ā0ā I would . I normally get my food from Samās in Beaumont but I literally work 10 - 15 mins away from the Samās in Port Arthur and I really wanted some crab cakes , fish , okra and Mac and cheese . When I arrived to get my ordered the young lady greeted and asked me for any condiments so that was a plus. So I left and made it back to work and I was so disappointed my 2 crabs cakes was burnt , my shrimps was soggy , my fish was somewhat ok , my okra was soggy and tasted old like they just put it back in the grease same with the shrimps and my Mac and cheese tasted old . So I called back and the young lady said I can get a replacement and come back Monday so I did . I replace my ordered over the phone and the guy hung up in my face numerous of times saying he couldnāt hear me so I called one last time and he got it together and can finally hear me . So when I arrived a older woman started questioning say I came at 4:54 pm and I called back around 5:15 pm saying that my ordered wasnt correct and saying that my food shouldnāt been soggy if I just picked it up like come on but ok I just left it alone because I know how I would get so with that experience I would NEVER go back to Samās in Port Arthur cause the one in Beaumont would never do that to a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThey still require masks to be worn despite COVID cases plummeting to a very low level and more people getting vaccinated (I am fully vaccinated) and all government masks mandates in Texas have been lifted and the vast majority of the businesses no longer requiring masks. Fully vaccinated people are a lot more likely to win the Texas Lottery Jackpot or get struck by lightning while driving than they are catching and spreading COVID. I got fully vaccinated so I did my part in slowing the spread and I believe I did enough. Vaccines are far more effective than masks are. To add, I even saw one employee the day before not wearing a mask so they are imposing a hypocritical double standard on customers.
The Beaumont location no longer requires masks and the people there are a lot more friendlier. The lady behind the cash register at the Port Arthur location is rude as hell. I would go elsewhere.
