08/21/2024 Breakfast. On the way in, I asked two people who were just leaving "What's good here?" and one person said the Paw Paw's Grits Bowl" (2 eggs cooked to order served in a bowl on top of southern style grits and bacon). Since I wasn't very hungry I thought it was worth the risk for $6.50 and ordered it. What a bargain! 5 star delicious! I have to say it was the best breakfast under $10 that I have eaten in a very long while. My wife got the Breakfast Bowl (A fresh baked biscuit, two eggs, choice of meat, hash browns and topped with cream gravy, for $9.95). She enjoyed it and we took the leftovers home as it was more than she could finish. A flavorful dish. Coffee was surprisingly good, service was about average, the staff were nice and the place was clean. I used a mostly empty bottle of hot sauce, and when I put it down, I noticed how clean the bottle was. 5 stars! We both said we would come back to try lunch. Our meal was very good! Excellent: Uniquely satisfying. 5 star V Good: Better than expected. 4 star Avg: An everyday, good meal. 3 star Fair: Below par. Dirty & or flies. 2 star

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you’re craving down-home cooking that tastes like it came straight from Grandma’s kitchen, The Feed Store in Nederland-Groves is the spot! I had the hamburger steak smothered in grilled onions, mushrooms, and rich brown gravy—served up with creamy mashed potatoes and crispy fried okra. Comfort food at its finest. My coworker went with the bacon cheeseburger and couldn’t stop raving about it. The tea never stopped flowing (a must on a blazing Texas day), and our waitress was an absolute gem—friendly, attentive, and knew the menu like the back of her hand. They’ve always got daily specials, and don’t even get me started on the desserts—out of this world. Expect a short wait at lunch, but trust me—it’s worth every minute. If you’re anywhere near Mid County, this place is a must-visit. —Michael Hiatt, Host of The Whiskey Trip Podcast 🥃

I typically eat breakfast at The Feed Store. But today, on a Thursday ate lunch. I am always on the hunt for a great salad. I ordered the salad with the Cajun Grilled Shrimp with no raw onions and Thousand Island dressing on the side. Moments later out came our meals. Wow! I loved the mixed greens along with the shredded carrots and cucumbers. Gave the cherry tomatoes to my hubby. Goodness the sauce from the shrimp was on parts of the salad. I could have had that instead of the dressing. So good. I think I counted 7 or 8 shrimps. The taste was amazing. I also “sampled” green beans and fried okra from the hubs plate. Sorry, I did not share my meal (except the tomatoes). $10 is a great price for this lunch meal! Might do a carry out lunch order when I am craving shrimp and salad! Thanks The Feed Store!! Gail P-B.
