Lunch with Lisa at Pueblo Viejo III. A family owned restaurant, which the name translates to "old town". The Rodriguez family has owned and operated this traditional old style Mexican cuisine establishment since 1997. They have grown to five locations along the treasure coast. The menu is full of family recipes that have been passed down for generations. I ordered the Baja shrimp tacos (yes, I love me some shrimp and 🌮) which come with a side of rice and black beans. I started lunch with the complimentary chips and salsa. Holy yummola, the salsa was THE BEST salsa I have ever eaten! It had hints of lime, cilantro, tomato, onion...you know salsa ingredients BUT, no one ingredient over powered another and they fused together delightfully. On to the Baja shrimp tacos. Each taco is made with homemade corn or flour tortilla (I had corn) filled with two large scrumptious shrimp, cilantro, and their homemade red cabbage slaw, oh my goodness, so good. The rice was a white rice that was splattered with what reminded me of succatash, peas, carrots, lima beans and corn. The black beans were a cheesy creamy sensation. I enjoyed all the flavors of each dish. The menu offers a variety of mexican flare...chicken, shrimp, fish, steak and sides galore. Pueblo Viejo III is located on the corner of a strip mall with ample parking, a side outdoor patio AND a full bar. Next visit (there will definitely be a next visit), I am going to try their margaritas, maybe I will see you there! Peace out my friends, ...
Read more"Maybe a huge Misunderstanding?!?" I've been here a lot over the years and always enjoyed the food and the service, but something happened last night that left me feeling "unwelcomed"...I've come in for lunch twice over the past couple weeks and enjoyed my meal and service, but last night I ordered take out and as soon as I walked in I felt a feeling of not wanting to be helped, everyone that was staff that was gathered in the back was looking at me and talking amongst each other...when help came about 5 minutes later (it was not that busy) the attitude was obvious and unfriendly, now the only thing I can think of is that I had lunch with a friend and usually one of us pay the bill and the other tips, we are both hairstylist so we know how it goes as far as tipping...our bill came up to 15.50 I paid with a card (no tip) and my friend tipped $20 cash!! Mind you we did have 2 waitresses looking after our table but I'm assuming only one received the tip 🤷🏾♀️(I didn't pay the tip this time so I wasn't paying attention)...being that black People are always stigmatized for "not tipping" we always make sure we don't fit that category, being that I was a paying customer and when I tip I tip well, I shouldn't have to walk in and feel like I did last night, it was unprofessional and sounds like the staff needs to work out something behind closed doors...never again! and I really liked...
Read moreThis was a take out order. First of all, we ordered via Grub Hub, but it stated that they were closed for deliveries. That was our first inconvenience. We don't live far, so when we went to pick up, we received a message that the order wouldn't be ready for another 30 minutes. Without an apology, we were told by a female member of the staff would just have to wait. After another ten minutes, a male staff member approached us, and we explained the issue. This gentleman was apologetic and friendly and took off the cost of a drink. Woohoo! Once the food was finished (?) and packaged, we headed back home. 5 minutes later we pulled into the driveway. We were starving, so we immediately plated the food. The combination platter was barely warm. The cheese dip was solid. Once nuked, it was somewhat edible. The worst was the taco salad. As soon as the box was open, it was obvious that the tortilla bowl was water logged. We lifted it onto a paper plate, but it disintegrated faster than we could move it. Once moved, you could clearly see that the liquid pool was water. It was water from the lettuce that had not been drained before it was thrown into the delicate flour shell bowl. The chicken was cold, but it was tasty once I nuked it. All in all, I think I cooked more than the cooks at PVM. This food establishment is being run down by an untrained staff in both the front...
