Binks — Restaurant in Portland

This may be the best pizza you're going to get after 10pm in all of Northeast Portland. Lots of places to park in the evening. The place literally screams Northwest. The decor and everything else on the inside just remind you of something you may see out in the boondocks in Oregon. Just people getting together having a good time and they don't rush you out either unlike McMenamins. The waitresses are also your Cooks so treat them generously and tip well. Come in early don't be in a hurry and enjoy the atmosphere and relax.. they have heaters outside and two fireplaces.

The menu is nice and simple nothing too extravagant just really good ingredients and something that's perfect to go along with a cocktail or a beer.

Also? The bartenders are some of the best hard workers in PDX! Try out the peanuts!

I've been coming to Binks for over 20 years with no issues until December 25, 2022. My friends and I were enjoying drinks when I attempted to order a pizza. The bartender (who was there alone) told me they weren't serving food that evening. Even though it's illegal to serve liquor without serving food (per OLCC), I decided not to make a big deal out of it. A couple of hours passed, and I noticed she had made two pizzas for another customer (most likely a friend). When my friend asked why we couldn’t get a pizza he could, she said he ordered it two hours ago, and she got really defensive. At the end of the day, what she did was illegal (not serving food while serving alcohol) and discriminated against my party. I will file a formal complaint with OLCC. I have spent thousands at Binks over a twenty-year period but...

Bartender not only took my drink before it was done and poured me a paltry replacement, but also enforced a "bartime" for happy hour that was 14 minutes off.

Not sure why they enforce it that way (granted happy hour starts earlier too). I personally would prefer them to sync their clocks to theirs phones and be on the same time as everyone else (and with what is posted online). Seems like it's more hassle to try to justify bartime than it's worth. So...

... we went to another bar just because of this. Vibe was weird after being made to feel like me and my friends were the ones who were off.

Decent pizza and smoking...
