There's no missing or mistaking the delicious aroma of Breaking Buns as you pull up to the parking lot. Even if there were more than the pair of food carts that are already present, you would be able to identify this cart by scent alone immediately, and be explicably drawn to it, like being caught in a tractor beam! Between the two of us, we ordered three Pork Belly Bao, and two each of the Szechuan Cow Bao and the Braised Beef Tonkatsu Bao, to get a good feel for multiple dishes, not realizing how incredibly filling they are, meaning our lunch order also became our dinner! But no complaints were heard from us either time, as we enjoyed every single bite! No wonder there aren't many other carts at this little pod; they've probably all been put out of business, or had to move elsewhere, thanks to Breaking Buns' aromatic ascendancy, and surprisingly affordable pricing. You'd be hard-pressed to find a cheaper, more filling, and more delicious meal anywhere in P-town! It may be a little out of the way for us, but I guarantee my wife and I will be returning here in the future. Very recommended!

The GOOD: miso pork belly buns. Vietnamese cold noodle salad. Also ordered the braised beef buns but not anywhere near as good as the pork. The noodles are loaded with flavor - if you love lime, onion, cilantro deliciousness, so yourself a favor and get them. The pork buns were a home run as well. Prices were great too - spent $25 (4 buns and the salad) and easily had enough food for 2-3 people. The NOT SO GOOD: the lady taking my order was overwhelmed or irritated by something - not friendly. I knew what I wanted to order from checking out the menu before going - which I was grateful for because I did not feel welcomed to ask questions. 45 min wait for food and not many people waiting. Not sure what the hold up was, but I had time so it wasn’t an issue Odd location - right off the side of the road next to what appear to be 3 other abandoned food carts. Many picnic tables for seating tho. Overall 5/5 for the food - everything else 3/5

You don't know good food until you have eaten here ! Phil and his team do an absolutely amazing job creating and preparing the freshest food I have ever eaten. 😋 The level of meticulous care is unmatched by any place I have ever eaten. You simply have to try every item on the menu, seriously a food journey of ecstacy unmatched. All ingredients are sourced locally and prepared by hand everyday and it shows in the flavor. The prices are not too high, actually I think he should charge more it's so good. Restaurant quality and service unmatched at any other food cart. Please support this locally owned and operated business. A+++ Outstanding flavor, excellent prices

Holy miso this food was amazing. I even ordered door dash and the food was excellent quality. Which really tells you something about the owners and their quality and consistency. I got the beef buns and my wife got the fried rice with miso pork. Normally I don't care for miso because most places use too much, but not breaking buns! It was flavored perfectly. And the beef buns were extremely flavorful. It was a sweet BBQ style on the beef, sour from the pickled onions(I think?), freshness from the cilantro, and I don't know what the sauce was but that just tied it together with an umami kick in your mouth. Oh and just to add your little extra texture, there's some sort of small nut chunk dusting which was a pleasant surprise.

And I must say, it came with this Napa cabbage slaw. This slaw... is amazing. Hands down the BEST slaw I've EVER had and I've been traveling around being a chef for 7 years. I can't explain it, i am stumped on what actual spices are inside. You just HAVE to try it. The slaw goes perfectly with the buns. I kept taking big bites of the buns and the spoonfuls of slaw. I know it was too big, but I didn't care. The...

First and last time for us. The food was okay, I think it was much more glorified in my mind than when I actually tried it and I knew right away I’ve had better. We spent $57 for two people and while we were happy to pay for new food we wanted to try, the one thing that stood out to me was the lack of customer service. The lady taking orders never once said thank you, always dodged our questions about certain dishes we were curious about, didn’t make eye contact with us and never smiled. And while we waited for our food, I sat at the table right by the door of their food cart and holy cow- they really should do a thorough deep cleaning of their floors before sure the pans were inches off the floor and the floor was covered with dirt, dust and stuff you shouldn’t see in a place where food is made. Also the gravel dust from cars pulling in and out goes right into the cart where they prepare food. Not very sanitary. Our experience was not worth the...
