This cafe just opened (April 2021), but I have been lucky to eat here twice already. I will get to the best part first: the House Special Banh Mi is delicious! So good - get it. The Ca Phe Sua (sweet/spiced iced coffee) is also excellent. On my first sip, I thought it was maybe a bit too sweet; but I got over that quickly - and will probably order that everytime I stop in. A tip on the Ca Phe Sua is that it is a bit difficult to drink from the cup it is served in (unless you let the ice melt, I guess) - so, although it involves using more plastic, a straw is recommended with this drink. Maybe bring a reusable straw 🤷♂️ As mentioned above, I loved the House Special Banh Mi, but I have also tried the Spicy Beef Banh Mi - and that was good. The Spicy Beef is a little messier to eat, and I prefer the House Special; but both are definitely recommended. I had one of the buttery, flakey pastries with the spiced meatball inside. Super delicious! Actually, dangerously so. It would be better if I didn't know about these. 😋 My other tip is that I honestly don't see them keeping the "every sandwich is $6" policy. If they do well, business-wise, I see that price going up by the end of 2021. So get them...
Read moreMy husband and I were super excited to have found Ca Phe. It is easily one of the best places we've stopped at in Portland. We came back multiple times on our one-week Portland trip. There is a great authentic feel upon walking in and you're immediately treated by a rich coffee aroma which is already a good start. The Ca Phe Sua was strong, not too sweet, and one of the best I've had. The Black sesame chai was well spiced, but I could not taste the black sesame as much which was a little disappointing, but it was still refreshing. The banh mis were fantastic; the egg butter is made with egg and oil, not butter, and worked well on the sandwiches. The house special was everything you expect from an authentic banh mi. We also tried the pork and chicken but liked the house special was better. It was such a good experience! On our last visit to Portland Ca Phe, we bought the house blend and Da Phe beans to...
Read moreRude service: I’ve been here about a year ago and the food and drinks are good, so I stopped by again today and the service was really rude. They have a horrible attitude and are rude to their customers. It made me never want to go back. To respond to the business’s reply: It would be a good idea to train your employees to have some grace. I was having a stressful phone call because I experienced an issue with my car on the way to pick up my lunch from them during my short lunch break. I only had that time to get on the phone and consult someone about my car. I apologized to the person who called my order for not hearing them the first 2 times and all of the people behind the counter laughed and snickered at me. When I got off the phone to apologize again, they dismissed me and laughed at me again. You never know what people are going through, so it’s a good idea to give...
