Right down from my house. I normally go in early, like noon. I have only ever seen one bartender, an aged lady, who takes forever and forgets what I ordered 5 seconds after I say it, even though I'm normally the only drinker at the time. I ALWAYS ordered the same thing and have been inside 50 times at roughly the same time, yet she has no idea what I drink and cards me every time. Still, who cares? She serves me routinely heavy pours, close to a double and that is $2.75. If you do go here make sure you tell her specifically what you are tipping her, or she will put it in the till thinking that was the price of your drink. I feel like we both lose in that situation. Also, she becomes highly offended if you cuss, more so, if you are male. So maybe try to keep it classy. That might get to be difficult with her pours... Just depends. One of my favorite things about the bar is it's so dark you're blind for two minutes upon entrance or l, as all dive bars should be. Additional information- Went in here one night and I was overserved, which I normally like but once obliterated I became the scapegoat for all the problems the dude living in his suv had ever had, according to a man I had never met before, then abruptly booted by his bartender associate. They followed after me without my being aware. Dude attacked me from behind and then the bartender and a patron began (wrongly, of course) accusing me of taking his phone. Dude attacked me while the bartender acted like she was going to steal my phone. They were only saying the phone thing I believe because they didn't want to have someone stand up or cop call or whatever. I should not have drank that much, but it doesn't matter. This is a glorious place to have something horrible happen to you. From 3 stars to...
Read moreIf you get stuck on 148th and Stark early in the morning this bar is the best available place to hang out for an hour while waiting for your ride. The pool is free and it's not crowded. Remember that people sitting in a bar at 8 or 9 a.m. might possibly be drinking their first fix for the day so go easy. Out of the seven or eight men who were in this bar only one was grouchy to me. I couldn't get any of them to play pool with me but it was early. I was stuck at this intersection a week before this and met a very nice man at 9 a.m. named Tucker. He played two or three games of pool with me, gave me a ride home and even hauled away a truck bed full of furniture. I offered him cash for his services but he refused to take it. I got new furniture later that afternoon. It would have been very crowded in my apartment if Tucker hadn't helped me. Very nice man but he won't call me back damnit. I think it's because he's married so totally understandable. I will probably never see you again because I don't plan on being stuck on 148th and Stark in the foreseeable future. If you happen to read this review thank you so very much for your time and labor. Your friendly and amusing demeanor you threw in for free.😎 I was having a hard morning and meeting you made my whole day go much better. Let me be very clear, this exceptional man did not try to touch me one time. You keep spreading that love around Tucker....
Read moreAh man, this place is so awful and I love it. It is cash only which is a bummer, but not a deal breaker. Also, don't ask for anything that has more than two ingredients. It's not that kind of place, and you're setting yourself up for failure
Side note: while I was there, someone actually called the land line to ask for a customer, to which the bartender shouted at the top of her lungs the person's name, even though there were literally 3 regulars and...
