I called in on 9/4/25 at 7:22pm to place an order for the Hunan chicken and I got something totally different. I have the receipt but I cant upload a photo of it. The entire plate was so Salty that I couldn't even eat it. The main entree was sitting on a bed of rice which made the rice intolerable to eat with the saltiness from the chicken sauce that they served on top of it. What happened to separating the rice from the main dish? It was just thrown together. The chicken that was served in this particular concoction wasn't the usual chicken served in their regular entrees. This chicken was like teriyaki chicken that pulled apart. It was salty!!! I would have sent it back but I was already out of the City of Portland. I was very disappointed in this meal and service. I lost money that I can't get back. $20 in the trash! I have never in my life had a dish served to me with this much saltiness...

A Local Gem — Absolutely Delicious Every Time!

Hu Dat never disappoints! Their hot and sour soup is hands down the best in the entire Corpus Christi area. It’s so flavorful and comforting — my husband always gets the large because a small just isn’t enough! They are known to run out and we have to adjust our expectations and change our mindset. Because we come mainly for this!

We also love their fresh spring rolls — they’re light, fresh, and crisp, and they come with a fantastic dipping sauce!

Their Vietnamese dishes are another big highlight for us. The Bun Combo and All-Star Combo are our go-tos — every bite tastes fresh and made with care.

It can get a little crowded at times, but honestly, that just proves how good the food is!

First time visiting this joint. We had a situation that made my wife feel very uneasy. Upon receiving our bill, our friends noticed there was a “service charge”. When asking the waiter what this was he acted dumbfounded and did not know what that could be. We asked him if this was his tip, because we always leave a decent tip, he still had no idea. We were a party of six so an automatic gratuity seemed to be the case so we went with that. After looking at it better at home it was indeed his 20% tip added to both our tickets. Very very unprofessional and obviously this waitstaff needs more training to understand what they are doing. If it wasn’t for that we would have gave a five star. Food was good and...
