As with most places in the time of Covid, it's been a while since I visited Leroy's. On my most recent visit, they were open, with a sign in the window saying that orders are accepted in the bar at the Landmark Saloon, the building on the property where Leroy's cart sits. I was in search of a sandwich, and the menu on the wall in the Landmark had three options available. They were (1) tri tip, (2) pork butt, and (3) sausage with onion and peppers. All three sounded good, but I was disappointed not to see my all-time Leroy's favorite, the pulled pork. I chose the pork butt, and, though it wasn't what I had come in search of, it turned out to be delightful. The crunchiness of Leroy's slaw provided a perfect contrast to the moist, slightly chewy consistency of the pork. There was just enough pepper in the sandwich to add a bit of zing without being overpowering. Hopefully the pulled pork will return to the menu at some point, but in the long run, I would never balk at choosing the pork butt again, or trying either of the other 2...

Read moreWe tried a gamut of the main offerings: ribs, pulled pork, brisket, bologna, all smoked to perfection and lain to rest on a slice of wondrous bread with a few spicy slices of picklement. Each was fantastic!
Leroy's is in the Landmark open-air compound, so you can go inside (Landmark) and grab a pint to slurp while you're waiting...
