Monti's Cafe — Restaurant in Portland

Fun cafe find in Portland, not quite in the downtown heart of the city, but out further. The vegetarian and vegan options were limited, but milk alternatives were definitely standard. (I love this as a Portland cultural thing). Had two pastries, both were very tasty, no artificial tastes or aftertastes; apricot jammer and a berry muffin. I had a hot, lavender-honey latte with oat milk. I expected it to be sweeter than how it came out; pleasantly surprised that I was wrong. Neither flavor overwhelmed the other. The drink flavors were well balanced, the espresso didn't standout or overpower the other flavors either. Didn't walk around the store, but there's an antique store attached, for shopping.

Seating outside on the patio or inside surrounded by books. Dog friendly. There's some on street parking, but plan ahead for having to park further away and walking up as parking is limited. It's worth a short...

I got the mocha iced coffee and coffee cake. Coffee cake was hands down the best I’ve had in a very long time. Super soft and spongey. I saved some of it and it still had the same texture a day later as it did when I had first gotten it. The coffee was okay. The outdoor seating is comfortable and spacious with umbrellas. The indoor seating offers a nice homey feel with even a deck of cards at each table to be able to play with friends. I only had about 30 minutes to browse the antique shop. Everyone from the cafe to the antique shop were extremely friendly. I will be coming back to finish browsing with another more recommended coffee. Came in the other day and my eggs were burnt and my laté was sour, I think the espresso shot in my laté was sour which made my drink horrible. The customer service was horrible and the wait time was inexcusable considering it was slow. Management/ownership must have changed assuming that it seems the standards have. I’ve been a consistent and loyal customer for the last few years and this is highly disappointing.
