I do enjoy their food, but picking up food here is not enjoyable. There is really only one employee who greets me when I enter and responds immediately to walk-ins. All the others ignore your existence, keep doing what they're doing, no one even bothers to say, "I'll be right over," or anything of the like, and on average I've seen customers stand there awkwardly, getting frustrated, waiting to be acknowledged 4/5 times. It's rude, inconsiderate (especially when you can see your order is done, and sitting right there), and irritating. This doesn't boast of customer service; it more follows the idea of customer hatred. Papa John's used to have a better location just up the street from here, years ago. It was closed once before, and I fear that with a lack of customer attentiveness it may be imminent again. Portland is a community of people who like to feel heard; people who want to be treated fairly and feel welcomed. Let's be honest... there are close to 10 other pizza places in the area that deliver, have an online portal, and are exceedingly more kind when spoken to in person. People WILL flock elsewhere. Please make positive changes. We do...
Read moreOkay I don't give out bad reviews often. But this deserves zero stars. Number one, me and my brother have always been able to eat anything. I mean anything. Gas station food, burnt to hell food, even expired, we grew up where food wasn't always an option so we have an iron stomach.
Now, in all my life I have never eaten something so gross, so overly greasey to the point you get sick after one slice of pizza. Not only that but it was bland, rubbery, and made me feel like I was eating a gross soggy rubbery thing I don't even know how to describe.
I also tried the wings, the wings were worse. I physically gagged. It didn't feel like I was eating chicken, it was so rubbery I swore it was some sort of chicken gelatin fake meat. Maybe it's not but it's certainly not appetizing at all. Didn't finish our food even though we really really tried.
Save your money this place was hands down the worst food I have ever eaten in my entire life. Even the sauce is gross. How do you mess up ranch???
Also, you will feel it immediately. You will need tums and pray to God when you're stuck in the bathroom all day....
Read moreBack in my college days, Papa Johns was one of my go-to spots for getting pizza delivery. Even with their prices at times being a littler higher than similar spots the quality and taste made up for it. So, when hearing this area would be getting a return of Papa Johns after it disappearing for some time, I was excited. Unfortunately, maybe my expectations were too high due to nostalgia or maybe we got pizza on an off day. It is also possible my standards/ expectations for a pizza are just higher now as well. It wasn't the worst pizza in the world, but I could create an extensive list of spots I would revisit before coming back. For the price they charge and the okay tasting pizza it is just not worth it. The highlight was their garlic dipping sauce (if you’ve had it before, you know) is the perfect dipping for the crust. Skip the big name chain/takeout pizza spots and support any of the dozens of local...
