Even though this park has been mistreated by many ,as nothing more than a place for dogs,to be brought solely for the purpose of doing "their business". Within city limits ... It's beauty cannot be denied. How many of you know the history behind this parcel of city- owned land ,& How exactly it came to be,and most- importantly ; remains untouched ; unchanged for the most part - decade.aftet decade? I urge you to do a little research into this for it is worth your time : and certainly will give you a different perspective than simply a place in Portland that's pet- friemdly...I'm a dog-lover, as many are reading this...It is my hope that perhaps.this parcels origins ,& story not be forgotten ,that a few of you may broaden knowledge,& your prospective perhaps by looking back in history . Read moreNice trails to walk through. However it's not the best place for me to bring my 7 month pointer-pit mix. It maybe my fault she isn't better trained on this but she takes off running after squirrels and birds. Takes forever to get her back and I get nervous for her because of the eventual roads she could run into. I need to be clear that this isn't anything against the woods. More of just warning if you're going to bring your high energy puppy. I've seen raccoons there and interesting birds. Very nice time when I am not chasing my dog down. I wish Portland had any fenced in areas for me to bring my dog by the Brighton Ave area so I could work on...

However, you quickly forget how close to houses you are in the dense vegetation. The loop around only takes a few minutes, but it's perfect for a quick stroll or dog walk.
