Pizzicato is a local chain that has been around for ages. Over the years, as the culinary scene in Portland has changed, they've adapted to it. They have inventive monthly specials (real talk: that radicchio and hazelnut caesar needs to be on the menu full-time though), and you can order delivery online (which is a nice way to get delivery without supporting the gig economy, if you're so inclined). The pizza itself is kind of what I'd call "Northwest style". The crust isn't quite NY-thin, but nowhere approaching Chicago style. It's medium-ish thick, and super crispy. Similar to Mississippi Pizza, if you've ever been. The real star of the show often is the salads. They are fresh, the dressings are good, etc. When I'm trying to watch my carb intake I can go here with my kids, let them get slices, and I get a salad with some protein and everybody is happy. A word of warning though: when they say "large", they mean it. "Large" really is "family size" so don't even think about it unless you have a bunch of salad eaters at the table. :) If you're in need of a quick tasty slice and a salad, you know what to do.

Whether it's a Friday night or a Tuesday lunch splurge, Pizzicato is the place to go to unwind, have a delicious slice or two of pizza and hopefully forget about doing your taxes this year. My only suggestion to Pizzicato would be that if you order two slices (for lunch perhaps), the person would say, "would you want that at the same time or a couple minutes apart?" How genius would it be to finish your first slice and another one comes to your table? Magic, I tells ya!

My friend said he was hungry, so I ordered him a pizza. However I asked the employees to make it as weird as possible, as a surprise for my friend. They happily accepted the challenge, and he received the pizza, with a cute letter with the secret recipe. My friend ended up loving the pizza so much, it's his new regular. Shout out to Beth who took my order and only charged me for a small cheese pizza despite putting a bunch of weird stuff on it. 10/10 service.

I love the crust, but the toppings for a wild mushroom pizza were all wrong. The hand-tossed dough and bake on the crust is perfection, but they added a lot of garlic, tons of orange and yellow bell peppers, red onion, and a small portion of thickly cut baby portobello mushrooms. The flavor was overwhelmingly that of the bell peppers, onion and garlic, which combined to overpower any mushroom flavor. I was so disappointed . . . I was a dedicated Pizzicato fan from 2006 until 2011 because it was close to home. I now live 12 miles from the nearest location. On this occasion, I had a medical procedure nearby and treated myself. My plan is to ask if I can have one base pizza, unbaked, to take home and apply my own toppings. Thing is, I don’t have their oven, so not sure the crust will be as perfect as...

Normally I love this pizza, but to be honest their customer service leaves a little to be desired. I have been here a few times but this is by far the worst experience. I ordered my pizza and a salad 2 hours or more in advance. When I got there the salad wasn't ready. No problem I can wait in my car a few minutes. But after 12 minutes I think they once again forgot about me, that or they were trying to grow the vegetables. At 14 minutes and my pizza getting ever colder, I told them to forget it. A small salad taking that long is ridiculous. I can make my own salad with my now cold pizza. With all of the competition in this employment environment I would think they would want to hold on to the customers they have. Hopefully they give me back the money I paid for their...
