Sub King — Restaurant in Portland

This place is FANTASTIC. I got the Torpedo and chicken teriyaki. Food was great. Full parking lot and dining room but I was still served in less than 5 with a custom order. The lady after me was in such a hurry because she had very little time for a break and they got her a chicken teriyaki to go and maybe 45 seconds after she paid. Food selection is fantastic. The atmosphere is really cool. Continued store worth of go drinks ready.

They also have an order yourself kiosks and they checked in just to make sure you didn't need help the first time using something like that. You can really tell that this was a place that lots of hungry workers came for years. They still have remnants of security doors from when the neighborhood was not as friendly up here in slaptown.

Food was terrible. I received my order and there was a salad with dressing stuffed in the same bowl with greasy hot meat and hot rice. That salad now was covered with that no longer being cold and fresh. It was wilted and warm and greasy. YUK! When you order a hamburger the lettuce is cold and crisp sits on top of the burger. There is no comparison to haveing a salad with DRESSING burried by hot greasy meat hot rice and hot teriyaki sauce. When I confronted the owner he was put out and did not want to address the problem. Been working in this area lately and Sub King caught my eye once or twice, but ive just been going to the nearby subway instead. I finally decided to give it a go today. I'm extremely happy that I made that decision! Service was quick, and the person taking orders was extremely friendly. Prices are comparable to subway, and they have a daily special: $9 for a full sub! I got the chicken cheesesteak since that was the special for today (friday). The ingredients in the sub itself is a step up from subway, but nothing crazy.
