Aroma Joe’s Coffee — Restaurant in Portsmouth

To start, I would like to acknowledge that I understand we are in a tough economy and that it’s a hard time for a lot of people right now and I took that into consideration before making this post. I have frequented this location for a couple of months now because I really enjoy their menu options as well as their staff who always seem to be keeping such bright spirits even on the busiest of days. You can tell from an outside perspective that these folks work hard but I have to say, I’ve stopped in a few times early morning recently and was greeted by a young girl who seems to have a real problem with the work conditions. I imagine that sharing with strangers that no one appreciates her or likes at work is not on the list of greetings. At times, she’ll say she’s working too much and I feel really terrible but there’s not much that I can do as a customer. (Hope this helps) This wont deter me from stopping by as it’s the only place open with nice staff (for the most part) that’s open on my way to work, but I’ve got to say, I do feel guilty whenever I can’t leave a tip for this one young lady in particular in the morning and everytime I receive my drink, she seems almost irritated. She seems to have a very negative perspective of the workplace and times where she has walked away, I can hear a lot of loud bang and crash noises going on almost as though things are getting thrown around out of frustration. Thankfully, there are other folks who seem to really give a crap and don’t make me feel like an inconvenience for trying to grab a coffee and a breakfast snack lol. Overall, These guys are the best crew and their menu always hits the spot! I was actually so disappointed with the service my boyfriend got when he went to go get a coffee. A young women I think her name may have been Charley? She has been putting her phone number on his cups when he comes in. He is extremely uncomfortable with her actions and never wants to return again. He also said he has been saying things about him quietly at the window about how she hopes he’s single and he’s cute. This is extremely disturbing and should never be done. I hope this women gets spoken too because it is not ok and soemthing...

Came in tonight for a coffee to two teenaged girls giggling over the counter with the girl behind the counter while they were sitting on the floor in front of the counter. I asked the poor worker of the gas station if that was a regular occurrence. Apparently the workers here frequently invite their teen friends in to loiter inside a business. Not the best management to have cameras you clearly never use. This doesn't seem like the location I will be...
