This place was pretty good. I had heard wonderful things about the beach plum, so on our way home from Maine, we decided to stop in. They had pretty good social distancing practices. Some tables outside, doing takeout as well, one way entry and exit to the building, and socially distance tables on the inside as well. We ordered a fisherman's platter to share. Definitely big enough to share by the pictures and the way that the gentleman described it to us, and two sodas. They had it brought to our table since we were sitting inside. The food was really really good. The flavor was great. Everything Was cooked on point. My only downside? We didn't get a lot. On one fisherman's platter we got eight fried clams. Six scallops, for shrimp, and a large piece of fried fish. And a heaping mound of french fries. I feel like there should be less fries and a little bit more of the seafood, I pay extra for that. Just a thought though. Will still go back.

Open on Easter Sunday! Serving food and 🍦 ice-cream. Food is basic American surf and turf fare, 🍔 hamburgers to "laubsta" rolls. My family and I with friend came for you scream, I scream we all scream for 🍦 ice-cream! I had German Chocolate Cake, Das Gut, my son, chocolate and my friend, she had a sundae with black raspberry. We enjoyed ourselves. I think 🤔 they had WiFi available, which makes my daughter happy. Sea Salt Caramel Truffle was good! To save $, buy the gift cards! They are adding 25% to the cards on each purchase. It helps with the current inflation. For 🍦 ice-cream, I recommend this franchise. I haven't tried the food yet so I have no opinion. Toll House Cookie 🍪 and mint & regular chocolate chip and rum raisin 🍦 ice-cream were good! Good amount of parking 🅿️ since they are in a plaza. Seasonal outdoor seating available.

The plates are huge! A pint of clam strips is huge. So is the haddock. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. We had lots of leftovers. We paid $70 for 2 haddock plates, two kid's plates, a pint of clam strips and 5 drinks. Then $17(I think, this was a week ago) for 4 kids ice creams. The soft serve ice cream was good but not our favorite. It was a bit too much for kiddie sizes. My girls couldn't finish it. We were driving home while they ate it. The cups ended up front with us. The way it melted was peculiar. It didn't melt the way ice cream traditional melts, it was like foamy. I wish I could explain it. We definitely enjoyed our meals but I think we'd skip the soft serve next time.

So on the regular I spend about 50.00 a week or more at the Portsmouth Beach Plum food is great but the staff not so good. I like the lobster clam chowder but for some reason 50% of the time they confuse it with lobster fish chowder (so many times). I get home only to find i paid for 2 bowls lobster clam chowder and did not get what I paid for. Finally Sunday night was the last draw. I ordered 2 bowls of lobster clam chowder and a broiled haddock sandwich. What did I get? 2 bowls of nasty lobster fish chowder that smelled like it was spoiled and a fried haddock sandwich with a ton of tarter sauce on it I asked for tarter on side and fish broiled I don't eat fried food and use very little tarter. So I was infuriated I called told the manager she said she would put a gift card aside for ruining a 50 dollar meal. So I went in to talk with GM about how many times this has happened the next day. Explaining that I was a good customer and had just spent 100 dollars there day before and 50 Sunday which we through right in trash. They did not comp, meal they fkd up I paid money for something I never got and there answer was a 12.00 gift card which doesn't even pay for 1 bowl of lob clam chowder I also tipped them 8.00 on a to go order. Apparently I was supposed to bring food back 25 miles waste my time and gas to get a refund on order that was all wrong except for the coleslaw lmao this place blows. I will never buy a meal there again. This place has no issue with fkn up your order and making you pay for it not only money but your time as and gas as well. My advice stay away from beach plumb Portsmouth NH. There are far better restaurants with good food, staff and cheaper prices. Shame on you guys for making right with your customers for your mistakes. It’s honestly like stealing from customers....

Just one visit to this place and I know I will never go back. On 7/30/23, at about 2 pm, I placed my order at the front counter and went to my table to wait for my order as I was instructed by the cashier. My order was brought out to me and immediately I saw a strand of hair was mixed in with the fried shrimp and scallops. I advised the lady who was working in the dining room of the hair in my food. She apologized and offered to ask the kitchen staff to cook a fresh plate of food for me.

About 20 minutes later, she returned with what was supposed to be a fresh plate of food. However, at first look it was obvious that it was NOT fresh food. First off, the food color was extremely dark. A clear indication that my first plate was just double cooked in an attempt to deceive me. Secondly, the same strand of hair was still present on the plate. Nothing was changed. Upon finding the same strand of hair, I took the plate back to the front counter and spoke with the manager directly and pointed out the strand of hair and asked why would he allow this type of poor customer service. He seemed extremely uncomfortable and embarrassed and yet offered to have "someone else cook my food". Someone else??

This means the manager approved of this action and he thought that it was appropriate to treat a customer this disrespectful way. He never once stated that this behavior was outside of company policy. He seemed rather inconvenienced that I called out this nasty practice. It was at this moment, I knew this would be my first and last time at...

This was my favorite seafood restaurant when living in the seacoast area.. since then, I moved out of town and have not visited this restaurant for 2 years. Lastnight, 3/12/19 I was visiting the area and decided to come in for the 3 way combo. It was 7:20pm. I waited about 20 minutes at the restaurant after calling in my order by phone. The cashier then approached me saying "were sorry, we overcooked the scollops so it's going to be a few more minutes.. " ok i said, no problem. Well, 2 minutes later, she comes out with the 3 way combo meal?!?! The tarter sauce was wattery and looked home made.. wasnt like that before.. I was confused.. the batter still looked over cooked, but it just needed to be changed because when I bit into a scollop it was raw and gooey and very unappetizing!!! The clams had a strange flavor as well.. idk if the oil needed to be changed, of if they rushed my 2nd order because they were closing soon, but it gave me the worst stomach ache I've had on quite some time 😣👎 too say the least, it tore me up for the next 17 hours.. I'm hoping the owner will see this and somehow make this right.. my friend who I was eating there with is also in rough shape as well.. this was very disappointing, I am hoping they can get back too the restaurant I loved and supported years ago!!! CAN I COME IN FOR A REFUND?? I CAN BRING MY ID. I DON'T WANT A CASH REFUND, I JUST WANT A CORRECTLY PREPARED MEAL. IS THAT POSSIBLE? WHO IS THE...
