2 STARS = Taste From what I know since living around the area, this is new management for a few years (5 or less), and when I started visiting about two weeks ago, food was large portions, but after a couple or more visits, food portions /quantity were less. You could actually feel the lightness in the container when you carry it, and when you hold it in your hand out from the bag. It seems that after they gain the clientelle, they skimmer down on the portions after gaining the customers' business. Not a fair or reputable way to function in a restaurant or any type of business, particularly since their prices are "extremely overpriced," and the containers are not that big. Friendliness is not the main ingredient of a business, rather "quantity" and "quality." Perhaps when you dine-in, it becomes more obvious, and they are intimidated to give smaller or less portions. As for the "Hawaiian Sunny Delight" drink or whatever, it's a killer drink with a couple pieces of pineapple, and other small pieces that you can count with most of the liquid, corn syrup - Sweetness overload, and not good for anyone's health. Not sure why it is even on the menu. The prices online and ones in-store do NOT MATCH, and when you question why the prices online have not changed, the owner "Ono" gets very defensive and points to the menus on the "Board" located on the wall facing the front door of the entrance. If you notice, the prices are edited with an "ink pen." Be professional and update your prices both on the menus and online, as they should be done professionally, so that customers are not deceived. Most of all, be polite when asked a question by a customer for simple clarification. After all, your business exists only because of "customers!" Supporting your business is a privilege not a right, and giving customers their worth for their money, should be your...
Read moreShabby, run down place in need of immediate facelift. Food was horrible. I ordered shrimp pancit which didn’t taste like pan it at all. It may have had 3 pieces of cabbage & the noodles just tasted really bad & were fried
As soon as I returned home and started eating it I knew I couldn’t eat it. I called the restaurant and the person who answered listened to what I had to say, told me she was sorry & would pass the info on to a manager. I asked what were they going to do to remedy my dissatisfaction & she repeated she was sorry. About 30 minutes later a manager called & I again expressed disappointment with the meal. The manager asked me to return it & they’d prepare another dish. I told the nsnsher after talking to the previous person, I threw away the food. The manager says he is sorry and there’s nothing he can do bcuz I discarded the food. I told him even if I hadn’t discarded it, I was not in a position to return to the restaurant bcuz of distance. Minimally, I expected a store credit or crediting the card I used for the purchase….beither happened. I never would return. I only went this day bcuz the restaurant I frequent for pancit is closed on Mondays.
My advice…. Stay away. The food is t worth it; the place is not modern or very clean; management doesn’t care about pleasing their...
Read moreWe have ordered from/eaten at Hawaii BBQ for a few years now. The food is good, but the customer service is poor.
Recently, we placed an order on DoorDash with an hour delivery window (they are quite busy during the pandemic which is understandable). The dasher was at the restaurant after about 45 minutes (as would be expected) and ended up having to leave as the food wasn't ready yet. A few more dashers later and an ADDITIONAL 45 minute wait for the food itself to be ready and I finally called to complain. I wasn't offered anything for the delay, only when I asked was a 'uhhh.. free appetizer for your next order' offered, which wasn't actually included once we got our food. It was my phone call that prompted the food to be prepared and provided to the dasher. I'm assuming this was because I had already paid on DoorDash so my order wasn't a priority. I was thoroughly disappointed and we ended up getting our food nearly 2hrs after the order was placed.
I understand you may be busy, but a heads up to your customers is generally all that is needed. Or, be prepared to offer some sort of comp to keep your customers happy and coming back to you. Unfortunately, this experience was enough to lose...
