This place never misses when it comes to the food or service. We tend to order pickup but the few times we've dined in service was amazing. We had family from out of town with us our first time eating in and our server (presumably the owner) took it as far as to help my grandmother learn how to use chopsticks and she was so friendly and attentive of us! Food is always fresh and delicious and I have never had an issue with special instructions being followed on our online orders either. Price is great when you consider the quality and portion size, usually around $15 a person but the fried rice for example is enough for two meals. My husband gets the chicken delight almost every time and it’s a great alternative for people who don't like noodles or rice. Food is ready relatively fast and always hot and fresh so it’s well worth waiting a few minutes. My only complaint if you can even call it that is the spice level can be pretty inconsistent, if you don't like spicy I would recommend against getting your food even mild because sometimes it can be extremely hot and other times it will have almost no...

my new favorite thai place in hampton roads, and one of the best dine-in experiences I've had in years. the atmosphere was warm and inviting, the dining area was spotless, and there were real flowers on every table. the staff were ridiculously nice: our waitress took care in welcoming us for our first visit, and the open-kitchen floorplan made me feel closer to the people making my food. the focused, uncomplicated menu struck a perfect balance between variety and simplicity. food was amazing, both in the complexity of flavors and the clear expertise of the chef. every individual part of a dish was cooked perfectly, including all the vegetables and four different kinds of seafood. the value was also exceptional, especially for thai food: $14 for a gigantic bowl of the best panang curry I've ever had was well worth it.

I can't recommend this place enough. mom & son beautifully exemplifies my favorite quality in any restaurant - intentionality. it's clear that everyone here loves what they do and are confident in the experience they're delivering, and that...

I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and a side of fried rice—both were absolutely delicious! I’m super picky about Pad Thai, especially after living in Houston for three years where my boyfriend and I had a go-to spot we loved. Since moving to Dallas, I’ve struggled to find Thai food that hits the mark—until now. Too bad I don't live here. LOL.

While in Portsmouth for work, I decided to give Mom & Son Thai Kitchen a try, and I’m so glad I did. The Pad Thai had thin noodles (just how I like them!) and I got it at a medium spice level. I don’t usually go for spicy food, but it had the perfect kick without being overwhelming. If you're sensitive to spice, I'd recommend going with mild.

The fried rice was tasty, though I do wish it had some egg and more veggies beyond just onions. That said, it was still flavorful.

Overall, I highly recommend this spot—great food, generous portions, and a lovely surprise...

Small, but cute and bright place. Stopped in while in the area. Ordered a few of our favs since we live in a different town. Started with a bowl of Tom Kha with shrimp (level 3). Just the right amount of heat for me. We got the thai lumpia, curry puffs, and moo ping. All were really good but I loved the pastry on the curry puffs. I ordered shrimp Pad Thai level 3 which definitely had a kick. We also ordered the Thai Pancit. I had the taro milk tea which was yummy and we got mango sticky rice to go. To be fair we both left with to-go boxes. We went on a Saturday and they had a football game playing on the tv in the dining area. The service was on point and we had a great experience. We will definitely visit again when in the area.
