Dunkin' — Restaurant in Pottsville

Wow. What a horrible experience I had. Actually the last few times have been horrible. Since they remodeled everything has been slower and more frustrating. the drive thru was backed up a long way so my son & I decided to go inside to order. Well that was obviously the wrong choice. All the workers inside were focusing on the drive thru orders meanwhile the inside customers that HAD to use the kiosks we’re waiting over 10-15 minutes for orders while they were just pushing drive thru orders out the window. Not 1 person getting inside orders ready. There was a couple peoples inside asking me how long I’ve been waiting and I said 10 minutes and we both agreed that this place has gone downhill since the remodel. Everything is GRAY, cold and depressing. What happened to pink and orange Dunkin colors? Anyways, I Couldnt win either way - drive thru or inside. I am a loyal Dunkin customer and ever since the new remodel things have gone downhill and FAST! There are now 2 windows which you’d think make things easier and faster. WRONG. Complete opposite. I’ve never sat so long waiting for my items to come out the window. A simple coffee and donut and I sat here for almost 5 minutes. You apparently can’t even talk to a person to put your order in anymore. It’s all kiosk and card only. What a major inconvenience. And I feel horrible for all the older people that don’t know how to use the kiosks, poor things will have to ask for help when all they use to do was actually speak to someone and order a coffee. I must compliment the courtesy given to me when I complained about not leaving enough room and a iced macchiato to stir it without making a mess. The manager tried very hard to get it through to the employees the reason for Less ice is so that the customer can stir it however it has with some employees gone back to the old way so I thought I'd try the store on the westside of Pottsville and they put less ice in but then filled the space in with more almond milk which is what I taken it and although I drank it it did not taste the same as I'm usual to and it was not what I ordered but at some point you just get worn out and give up so I join a couple other family members and Friends who have just given up and will start trying the new place that just opened up at 2nd and Mahantongo Street in Pottsville . Of course the disadvantage is that there is no drive thru but the advantages you don't have to explain every time why you want less ice or for them to premix it before they put the ice in am I stupid or is it just common sense if you're driving a car and you trying to mix up something that has a straw hole in it that you cannot shake and you cannot properly Stir It so you must pull over reach n and grab some of the ice out and throw it on the ground as it will just melt it is only water after all. Their coffee rocks and their employees are Pleasant respectful as well as the managers but with that said that doesn't correct problem so...

No cash here. Order inside on screen only. Can't even look at donuts while ordering inside. I am now avoiding this location. Donuts and coffee are fine. The experience.. I hate. Drive thru was not available. Locals in 3 separate towns in area had unfavorable comments on owner too. (Really odd, I did not ask.. just mentioned I stopped at DD) They said it is now a stop of last resort. Inside is nice. Also.. the dough in the cake donuts was unusually pasty, not sure if this is trend or not. The employees were all pleasant and nice, but don't expect any interaction, I think this owner is going for absolute machine efficiency... Zero contact between customer and workers. My dollars go elsewhere now when I am in that town. Have 2 stars because the two people I forced interaction with were nice, otherwise it would have been one star.
