Welp, so much for ever going to Moe's again. And I love this place. A full chicken is 2 breast, 2 legs, 2 thighs. But I always get all dark. So instead of replacing the breast's, they just give me 2 legs and 2 thighs. Ridiculous. I even complained to Shelly, whom is awesome and too good for this place. 3rd straight time they short me.i am sitting here looking at 2 full chickens that I just bought, I got 8 pieces of chicken, 4 legs and 4 thighs. So i just spent $54 for 8 pieces of chicken. 54 bucks for less than 1.5 chickens? Let us not forget that 2 days ago i ordered a full chicken ALL DARK, but was it all dark, nope. And i even double checked to make sure the girl wrote down all dark. I got 2 breast, 2 legs, 2 thighs. So when you order all dark and they understand that, they just remove the two breast. They dont replace them. They just omit them. So lets take a look at the last 4 times i have been there in the last 2 weeks. 1) Ordered full chicken all dark, got 3 legs and 3 thighs. Perfect. 2) Ordered a chicken and a half all dark, got 3 legs and 3 thighs. Same as the full chicken. Pathetic. 3) ordered full chicken all dark, got a full chicken but it wasnt all dark. Pathetic 4) Today. Ordered 2 full chickens all dark. Got 4 legs and 4 thighs. For $54. Thats 7 pieces of chicken i have been cheated in 2 weeks, 9 if you count the 2 breast that i didnt order. Absolutely ridiculous. You guys enjoy that donation i just gave you. Let us not forget the HUGE tips i have left over the years. Shelly will attest to that. I wont be back....
Read moreMoe's Original BBQ is a great place to get some great food after a long day on the road. Unfortunately I was late getting there, 7:30 pm and they close at 8:00 pm. They were still gracious of me stopping by and I was able to order a pork plate with Mac n cheese and baked beans as sides. I also got the Mississippi Mud pie, I couldn't pass that up. Baked beans are one of my favorite sides so I started with them. What a delight, they had a great flavor and left me wanting more when they were gone. The Mac n cheese didn't impress me I am sad to say. I suggested to the young lady who served me they should smoke the Mac n cheese, hopefully they give that a try. The corn bread also has a very good flavor that I enjoyed. If you have read any of my other reviews I like meat that has good flavor without having any BBQ sauce added to it, I like meat to stand on it's own. I was not disappointed with the pulled pork, it had a great flavor without having to add anything to it. I did try their sauce, it had a bold and rich flavor and added to the flavor but didn't overpower. To finish off the Mississippi Mud pie was very good. It has a good sky chocolate flavor and a touch of crust. I am glad there wasn't a whole pie because I would have had regrets after finishing it all myself! Moe's is a great place, good low prices and a great atmosphere with good music. I look forward to when I can get here earlier and try some other meats. Check it out, you won't be...
Read moreThis is my second time at Moe’s. This time I had the brisket platter with mac n cheese and green beans (see photo). Overall, I have found everything at this place thoughtful and well made. A couple of details might make it all even better. The brisket had a nice flavorful rub and a great smokey flavor. The brisket is on the leaner side so it ended up being a bit dry and chewy in places. It’s also not served particularly warm. The mac n cheese is better than most places. The flavor profile is mellow and nice with great character. Some of the macaroni noodles have edges that got dried out in the process making them hard to chew. The green beans are nice and seasoned with bacon pieces but the smoky flavor doesn’t come through as much as you expect. Like the other items, the green beans would have been even better if served warmer. Great cornbread — also not very warm. The ribs I had on my previous visit were excellent. The service was friendly. The cashier did a lot of coughing at the counter, though. I look forward to coming here again when I’m passing through the area and trying more...
