Smokehouse BBQ Shack — Restaurant in Prince Frederick

I've passed this establishment countless times on my home from and never really thought of giving it a shot. If you see it from the road it may seem as though no one patronizes this establishment, this is because the parking lot is located behind the restaurant. My buddy asks me if I wanna go get some BBQ for dinner, as he has read overwhelmingly positive reviews on the company's Facebook page. Let me tell you, those Facebook reviews can be a cruel mistress. Upon pulling into the parking lot we are greeted with a sign that says "NC Style Pulled BBQ Sandwich". Anyone that knows me, knows that I can't enough of the vinegary and peppery NC style BBQ, so you already know what time it is. What an affront to NC. While the wait staff was polite and service was relatively quick, the NC pulled pork sandwiches left us with a bit more to be desired on the flavor front. First of all, after being specifically asked if we wanted coleslaw (to which we responded with a resounding, "YES"). Upon getting back home we were greeted with two dry sandwiches with no cole slaw in a ten block radius. Not a huge deal, if we weren't expecting it, but we were. He ordered the potato salad, which had the flavor hospital-esque potato salad. No flavor profile to speak of. I can't speak to the other items on the menu, however, if the pulled pork was any indication I will not be returning to patronize this business. I give this establishment 2...

Found this place on accident because I was actually looking at my surroundings for a change on my way home and noticed this establishment. Turns out that it’s pretty new as well. I pulled in to see what they got. The menu is small and they don’t have a meat sampler platter (yet) but at the suggestion of the lady who was working the counter, I ordered a rib sandwich and the brisket sandwich. (strictly to sample the meats at a much cheaper price)

What can I say, it was fantastic. The brisket is JUST the right consistency of tender and firm. The ribs held together, but quickly fell apart when I dug in. They gave me their sauces to try and believe me when I tell you...you’ll want to smother anything you order in their sauce.

I look forward to coming back to this BBQ shack in the future and seeing how they expand.

P.s. do yourself a favor and get some of their sauce to go. I use it for my grilled chicken and steak as well. God...

I recently visited Smokehouse BBQ Shack and was blown away by the quality of the food and the exceptional service provided by the staff. From start to finish, my experience was nothing short of excellent.

First of all, the food was absolutely delicious. The BBQ was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of smokiness and tenderness. The sides were equally impressive, with the mac and cheese and collard greens being particular standouts.

On top of the fantastic food, the service was outstanding. The staff were friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to make sure that my dining experience was as enjoyable as possible.

Overall, I highly recommend Smokehouse BBQ Shack to anyone looking for top-quality BBQ and exceptional service. I will definitely...
