I rarely get to Princeton but we were there for family pix and the adult kids all wanted to try their pizza.
ATMOSPHERE: We were there around 4-415pm on a Wed. About 1/3 of the restaurant was full. When we left at 545, there was still seating available. The seating was "seat yourself". The restaurant is comfy and inviting. The service was incredible. Its nice to be able to watch the kitchen staff make the food behind big picture windows.
I called ahead to set a reservation for 9ppl which they dont officially take reservations but the owner/mgr took my name and approx time so they could set an area aside for us as tables became available. As it turned out, we had 4 extra ppl and were there at least an hour ahead of my projected time. We got there before they were busy so we were still accommodated right away with our own room 🥰
I kept trying to get the hostess attention to let her know we were the same party for a later time but she was working so hard to get our table set up, She wasnt in one place long enough to tell her. Because we were there so early, I figured I could tell the server before our anticipated original arrival time. With all the chaos, I forgot until the end of our meal which was when we were supposed to get there. I noticed they had already started to set up our other tables so I made a point to stop our server to let her know. I kept apologizing. They were very nice about my forgetfulness and thanked me for letting them know.
FOOD: The pizza is excellent (I tried some eventhough Im not a pizza person). High quality ingredients. Chewy n crispy crust. Everyone who got a pizza was impressed. I got the proscuitto alfredo. The proscuitto was a wonderful addition. The pasta was perfectly cooked. My only dislike was the sauce. My expectation was either traditional alfredo w parmesan or other hard cheese, pasta water, and maybe a bit of butter or "americanized" with cream added. There was quite a bit of soft cheese added to increase the creaminess that didnt appeal to me. It was almost like adding provalone or mascarpone to the sauce to enhance the creamy texture (i dont know which other cheeses were actually added). Its not terrible and I can see where others might like it. Its just not a taste and texture I like or expected.
COST: The prices were good based on the high quality food. Dont expect to pay fast food or delivery prices. Theres no way to compare to them since the flavor and quality is so much better. I would absolutely recommend...
Read moreI'm not exactly sure what happened in the last 12-18mos at Pagliai's. I rated the food a 3 because the cheese bread and salads were great! When we first tried Pagliai's Pizza, the food was great! The meat on the pizza was well flavored/seasoned and the cheese tasted fresh, heck all of the ingredients tasted fresh! About a month ago, we ordered the house special (pizza) and received pagliais special but we figured it was a fluke. We kept the pizza only to find that the crust wasnt thoroughly cooked and the meat was bland/not seasoned/flavor. The last time we went, this past week, the pizza dough was suppose to be thin and crispy yet, it was thin and chewy. The meat and cheese both tasted very bland and chewy. We discarded the pizza. This was a very disappointing experience. The QUALITY of INGREDIENTS . used, the manner in which food is PREPARED, LENGTH OF TIME taken to prepare the food ...and customer service are all reasons why folks go to restaurants. It's suppose to be a treat not a trick. Man I'm so bummed.. Jeez I may sound pitiful here but we are foodies we love food and this did not hold up! I wouldn't recommend the pizza, but the salads and cheese bread...
Read moreNot your average pizza folks. I have enjoyed every pizza I have had from here. Now, it is not cheap, quite pricey actually, but you get what you pay for. If I go to pizza hut I normally buy six pizzas to feed my family of 8. When I buy Pagliai's I only buy three pizzas. They offer 3 crusts- thin, regular, and deep dish. The pizzas are loaded with cheese and toppings. If you do not love cheese then this is not the pizza for you. I feel as if this is the best pizza in western Kentucky. Now we do not normally eat in there because service is hit and miss and the place is usually busy. One thing I must say also is they have the best ranch. I believe they make it there but from someone who is not a huge ranch eater, I always order some. Sometimes I order the chips to dip in the ranch, other times I put it on my pizza. They have good salads and they offer sandwiches and other pasta dishes. The lasagna is tasty and the spaghetti and meatballs are okay, nothing to fancy. Desserts are good also. I always get the sweet tea drink as it is some of the best around town. The staff are always friendly whether you dine in or pick up...
