Tim's Awesome BBQ — Restaurant in Princeton

I was in Princeton on a business trip and googled top restaurants in the area. This place came up. I like to try local places vs. chain restaurants when I can. I had high hopes for this place since I love bbq. What a disappointment! Got the 2 meat plate - brisket and pulled pork with sides of mac n cheese and beans. Brisket was almost all fat. Not the kind of fat that adds to the tenderness but gelatinous, inedible hunks of fat! The pulled pork was flavorless. I think it is cooked in a crock pot and then doused with a bland bbq sauce. Mac n cheese was identical to the stuff you buy ready to eat at the grocery store. I travel a lot and this is the worst bbq I have ever eaten. $17 spent and still...

I've eaten Tim's Awesome BBQ since before he had his restaurant. It's delicious! The ribs (both St. Louis & Baby Back) are tender & fall off the bone. The smoked corn-on-the-cob is real sweet corn not what some people pass off as sweet corn. It's tender, sweet & cooked just right. His BBQ baked beans are to die for. Sweet & tangy with a great smoky flavor with pieces of BBQ in with the beans. Dawn's home-made pies are quite good. I'm partial to her cherry pie. Ribs were good, but the employee who took our order could listen better. We placed a large order for a work dinner and we asked for extra sauce and Mac and cheese and baked beans for sides. The employees at this establishment decided on their own that we needed what they wanted to give us for sides and that we didn’t really need any extra sauce. The lady who answered the phone on the two occasions my coworker called evidently did not care to sell any ribs with her poor attitude.
