I am closing in on 40 and have been coming to this restaurant since I was a small child, some of my earliest memories are family dinners at Da Chen. The staff here are amazing— kind, attentive, helpful, and generous. Their house made duck sauce and crispy fried wonton chips ARE OUT OF THIS WORLD. Do not sleep on them if you only ever order take-out! You receive the crispy wonton chips with any soup order, but you have to ask for their homemade duck sauce on the side (costs like 25¢ iirc)!!! My favorite foods from here are: wonton soup, their complimentary jasmine tea, shrimp toast, beef & broccoli, sweet & sour chicken, general tso’s chicken, pork fried rice, and the bao bao platter (it’s such a fun treat eating this for dine-in). You will always receive the same quality service and food here, and somehow over the years it’s even gotten better! Da Chen is child-friendly and has high chairs available to use, and is wheelchair-accessible straight from the ample free parking lot and into the restaurant. Da Chen accepts cash, debit or credit. Thank you Da...
Read moreI went there yesterday July 19,2022 & ordered 2 simple items shrimp lo mein and crab rangoon my food came out in record time less than 5 minutes. I took my food home & ate it with my wife. About 1hr later I started feeling nauseous so did my wife. Wouldn't you know I threw up everything I ate & had the worst stomach ache for the rest of the night. I should of known better seeing that I'm a cook & knew all of the food that I ordered was already prepped & all they had to do was re-dip the crab rangoon in the fryer while my lo mein noodles were already cooked & needed to be reheated with the shrimp & vegetables. Only god knows what day they were pre-cooked probably Sun or Mon. Long story short don't eat here there's a billion Chinese restaurants. Try the imperial house rite down the road on Chester Pike they are excellent but closed on Tuesday's and when I ordered from this restaurant it was Tuesday & the imperial house was...
Read moreI was a little apprehensive when we walked into this place tonight, as there were no other customers inside. The first thing I noticed was the cute decoration. The place was very clean as well.
My Philly tour guide and my two associates decided on Chinese during our ride back from Atlantic City... and it turns out we made a pretty good choice. We placed orders for 4 entrees, which we passed around family style.
The sweet and sour chicken was tasty, the spicy orange been was delicious, the twice cooked pork had a great consistency, and the chicken pad thai was tasty, with a hint of licorice (which was a little strange but still good)
The service was impeccable, and the food came up fairly fast. I've had better Chinese, but this was well worth the 3 stars, and I'd come back again. ...
