John Morton’s Tavern — Restaurant in Prospect Park

We have been meaning to try this place since we moved to the area and we drive by it all of the time we decided to go on a Thursday night, which conveniently ended up being a very fun trivia night for the tavern- we stayed after our meal was over to play with the rest of the restaurant and really really enjoyed it! As far as The Food, it was very tasty!! We ordered a Buffalo chicken cheesesteak for myself and a regular cheesesteak and loaded fries for my partner. The Food came delivered to the table, hot and delicious. They have an easy to read menu with a center bar, booth seating, and not a bad seat in the house. The only downside we had to the visit was that we felt a little out of place like maybe there were more locals there and we might actually have been sitting in someone’s seat that comes in on a regular basis. lol- oh wheat staff was friendly and helpful and as we mentioned before the trivia night really capped off the evening. You gotta come for the brunch on Sundays! I don’t know if I’m giddy over the brunch food or the drinks or the buzzing about of humans in positive merriment! True #delco pride and love right here! Sydney, the bartender does one heckuva great job keeping the ship flowing! Hardworking! Pro and pleasant. The food itself is part comfort food, part traditional and the freshness can certainly be tasted! The omelet cheese is soft and holds a nice gooey texture as you enjoy your meal- which is I think awesome because it makes the rest of the omelet contents consistently tasty! Went for a "carved" roast beef sandwich... I got a sloppy terrible lunchmeat garbage beef slipped in generic jar gravy.. Inedible!!! I cam only assume that the pork and turkey are exactly the same.... It's a shame because of the world famous sandwiches to come from that building (different names) why even attempt to put a roast beef sandwich on your menu if it's not even real!
