Rhode Island Yummy — Restaurant in Providence

Hidden gem, so glad this place has set up right next to a (btw) great Asian grocery store. RI Yummy is a lunch-counter style restaurant that just opened a couple of months ago. Only a couple of tables, so they do a lot of takeout business, but we ate inside and the service was informal but super friendly. The food is out of this world!

They have bahn mi, papaya salad, pho, spring rolls, and a variety of hot and cold dishes. The slow-cooked pork and chicken thighs were to die for. My two picky little ones devoured it. One pork chop and one chicken thigh with an order of rice fed all three of us. We couldn't even finish it, but not for lack of wanting to; the sauce was addictive! Unbelievable kitchen staff (only man) drop the bread on the floor and still use for customers, and why is he cleaning the kitchen floor and sink using the same plastic gloves., Omg just change and wear new gloves ., this crazy guy running around the whole restaurant cleaning and cooking at the same time using the same freak glove - he went outside touch all kind of doors panel and door knob came back inside to kitchen and touch all kind of foods using the same freaky glove., Omg no consider for foods safety especially during covid pandemic. I rarely eat at Southeast Asian restaurants because my mom can make most of the entrees and when I do, I avoid eating traditional Cambodian meals because I always feel disappointed. However, RI Yummy is my go to place for meals other than my mom’s cooking. A lot of the entrees are done very well!
