Illinois Has the Best Beers in America? These Award-Winning Brews Just Proved It

This is a cozy micro brewery that just opened up and is very quickly becoming a very popular spot to hang around with friends and family for a cold beer. They have a small outdoor patio, living room style section, a decent size bar and a few more tables by the bar, with a garage style overhead door to give it a more of an open air feel. The owners and staff are very friendly, the service is very good, the ambiance is more on the laid back side. I think they are doing very well even though, they just opened up. They only have four of their beers at the moment and a couple of more from other local breweries. You can't park there is on my favorite beers. The only problem I see is with the parking, which is mostly street parking, with only a couple of parking spots behind the building, one of them is a dedicated handicap spot. They don't sell food at this establishment, so if you get hungry, you can order from any of the local restaurants. You can also bring your own food or snacks, if you desire.

I've been a loyal patron since they opened. We love the beer, the family atmosphere and the wonderful employees. I recently rented out the space to host a party and it was absolutely amazing. Keep them in mind if you're ever looking for an event space! They went above and beyond my expectations!

Hop District is the kind of brewery that doesn't need to scream "community" because it's baked into the walls. It’s unpretentious, local, and worth showing up for more than once.

I’m not big on IPAs—too many of them taste like someone steeped a pinecone in regret—but their Rebello pilsner is my move. Crisp, clean, just enough bite. It’s what I order when I want a beer that doesn’t make me overthink my life choices.

The staff? Sharp, fast, and somehow manage to make you feel welcome without forcing a fake laugh or asking if you’ve “checked out the double dry-hopped mango saison.” Thank God.

And the crowd? Real people. No brewery bros giving TED Talks about hops. Just neighbors drinking beer and having conversation.

Hop District doesn’t try too hard—because it doesn’t have to....

I recently discovered this place about a month ago, I love that they offer a variety of brews as many times you'll find that a brewery will focus on or put an emphasis on one particular style, but here there is just about something for everyone. The inside is very spacious with a large bar seating area as well as many tables. Regarding food options, I haven't tried anything yet, but I know that they have paired with the restaurant next door and the menu options look great. I love a good porter so my new favorite beer so far has to be the Dirt Mouth Porter, it's amazing. I look forward to...
