First trim ever going to a Black Bear and I gotta say I am one to leave reviews sparingly. If they’re great I say so- if they’re bad I also have to chime in. I ordered ā€œthe Grizzā€ marketed as the largest breakfast meal they offer. With a half a deck of cards in size of scrambled eggs, 2 little links, a 4ā€ by 3ā€ by 1ā€ slice of ham and two little slices of bacon, runny tasteless grits ( yes even with seasoning they were still so runny) the pancakes were the largest thing I got with it and I will say they had great flavor no bitter though. But the price we paid 65.00 with tip, this wasn’t it. The portions were soooo tiny and the flavors all so bland. I don’t think I’ve ever felt legitimately sad and angry over paying that kind of money for that kind of food ever. I remarked to my hubby if we hadn’t had our kiddo with us when the food finally came out I wanted to just refuse it as the portions alone were an absolute joke. And again, I am not one to write up all types or reviews just cause but I gotta say this place is one worth skipping.

My wife and I dined here on opening day in Pueblo. It was my first experience at Black Bear Diner. We were greeted at the door by staff members who held the door open for us. Once inside, I was blown away by the atmosphere. There are black bears everywhere! We were taken care of by a lovely young lady named Audra. She was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Black Bear was more than adequately staffed and they all worked together to ensure each customer came away with an enjoyable experience. Our meal was delicious. My wife enjoyed the Shasta Scramble with a side of bacon and I enjoyed The Original ScramBowl. We both brought half of our meal home with us. We also brought home dessert; carrot cake and bread pudding. We enjoyed the company of BUTTER & BISCUIT, the bear mascots. We even took photos with them! Without a doubt, we will be returning to dine at Black Bear again as well as letting others know about the wonderful experience we had. Thanks for doing it like no other.

Been two different times and the first time we were there for 3 hours most of the time waiting on our waiter and the food wasn’t good so we went back a second time today hoping it would be better cause it wasn’t so newly open and this time was even worse. We had Evangelina as our waitress this time and I hate to say it but that was the worst service we have ever had anywhere ever and that’s saying something. Took 20 minutes after our drink order was taken to get our drinks and that was just the start and it just went downhill from there. And then to top it off the food wasn’t good even remotely. They definitely need to do everything different. We will not be returning and will definitely not be recommending this place to anyone. Only good thing about the place was the kids getting to take a picture with the bears. 0/10

I have eaten at previous BLACK BEAR DINER. What to tell youand the portions at BLACK BEAR DINER ARE SMALLER AN INCONSISTENT. My club sandwich look nothing like it did in the picture. The sandwich was inconsistent in the amount of turkey ham and bacon. The sandwich is small. I only got like four onion rings another family member had the BLT and the sandwich had like two pieces of bacon on each side For the prices were paying for lunch The portion should’ve been much bigger. In addition, there’s inconsistency because somebody next to me ordered a club sandwich and it looked more like the picture than what I got. It looked more stacked had more filling as far as turkey, ham and bacon compared to mine. Blackbear diner is known for its large portions. The diner in Pueblo is not giving portions like they do in Colorado Springs and fountain and again my club sandwich was not stacked. It was a little sandwich compared to what the picture actually showed the BLT was not very good. It only had about two pieces of bacon. My mother had the open faced turkey sandwich and there was hardly any turkey on the sandwich. I’m sorry if you’re going to be part of the black bear diner then your proportion should be larger than they are at the new one in Pueblo. They definitely need to get that act together. I mean if I’m paying like $14 for a sandwich there or more it better be stacked with turkey, ham and bacon. I was not impressed at all in fact, even looking at the breakfast. Everything looks smaller portions in this town compared to black bears in other states and like I said in Colorado Springs and fountain, this black bear franchise should represent black bear and have larger portions I am not impressed. In fact, I think I’ll just drive to the one in fountain until the Pueblo store figures itself out disappointed big time. Out of all the black bears, I’ve been in. I do like the layout of the one in Pueblo. It’s a nice store, but they need to get their act together as far as proportions. The other complaint is with your parking oh my gosh, why would you not put an exit out to the road instead of putting a sidewalk and grass? There’s only one exit out so virtually when you park at the black Bear in Pueblo you are trapped on one side so there’s only one side in and one side out and it makes parking very difficult. You should’ve had another entrance in and another...

I realize the Pueblo, CO location is new, so I want to give it grace. I went there twice in the last week, once for brunch time on a weekend and once for dinner on a weekday. During the weekend brunch time, they were very busy. There appeared to be a lot of staff. The waitress was friendly, but didn't come by to refill our coffees or check on us during the hour we were waiting for our food after ordering. Food was good, though. Now, for the weekday dinner: Not as busy. The service was more prompt and the waitress was friendly. We didn't have to wait as long for our food. My husband's order was perfect. Mine, however, was not what the menu had described at all. I ordered the Pot Roast Melt. First, it came out without the au jus. The waitress said she'd just learned they were out of au jus.Would have been nice to know! Then, after biting into it, I noticed it was just meat and cheese (no grilled onions, no horseradish aoli, and the grilled bread was not parmesan encrusted). So the waitress took it back to be re-made as it was stated on the menu. My husband had been done with his meal for 10-15 minutes when mine finally came back out! It tasted really good. I ate half and asked for a to-go box, which the waitress accommodated. Most restaurants we go to have offered to comp some, if not all, of the meal in a situation such as this. The waitress made no such offer. Oh, well. We went up front to pay the bill and get dessert to go. The poor girl up front was trying so hard to accommodate, but she was not supplied with much of anything to pack the desserts. She had bottom to-go boxes, but no lids! She had to improvise by taping two bottoms together. We love the Black Bear Diners in Springs and Fountain. In another month or so, we'll likely give this one another try to see if they've worked out the newby bugs. The atmosphere and aesthetics were nice and comfortable, and all staff was friendly. Good luck in bringing...

We are originally from N Cal and know this restaurant, Black Bear Diner well. We were excited to learn BBD was coming to our new area, Pueblo, Co. My husband and I went on the 1st day it opened for breakfast. The food was good, but the service was off… way off. I kept hearing people around us complaining about cold food, wrong food, and long waits. I too had complaints, but didn’t want to join the ā€œKarenā€ gang. One week later we, hubby and I decided to try them for lunch/dinner. OMG! The wait was 25 mins, so we were told. We sat and waited, about 10 mins later two groups who came in after us were seated and we were the only ones waiting to be seated. I asked ALL 5 hostesses standing there if they had our name, one said: ā€œyes, you’re nextā€, one said: ā€œNoā€ and the others walked away. We were seated within 12 mins. We get seated, place our order, so far everything is ok. šŸ¤žšŸ¼ We ordered onion rings as an appetizer, 15 mins later we see a lady walking around with a plate of onion rings, she asked a few people around us if it was their order, but skipped asking us. 🤨 I let our waiter know she was walking around with our onion rings. 😠 The waiter grabbed her and let her know it was for our table. Lesson learned… Right? NO! She did the same thing with our main course. She asked people around us, but skipped us. WT…? I have no clue what that was about, and i don’t want to assume anything, so I will leave as is. At the end of our meal, my husband realized he never received one of his two side dishes, fruit. Despite all the issues we had with our two visits we still gave a 20% tip. My husband has expressed his displeasure and will not be going back, as for me, I will be back in hopes it will get better. As a customer this is what I see: there’s too many people stand/walking around...
