Martinez Cafe, Pueblo, Colorado ordered on: January 10, 2025
A culinary expedition from Martinez Cafe in Pueblo, Colorado, promises an exquisite journey through the flavors and textures of Mexican cuisine. With my recent order, I had the pleasure of indulging in the following delights:
The Phoenix Breakfast Burrito Tortilla (Flour or Corn) Martinez Omelet Rellenos
The Phoenix Breakfast Burrito was a harmonious symphony of savory ingredients, meticulously wrapped in a tortilla that, while not house-made, provided a satisfactory vessel for the delightful ensemble within. Each bite offered a balanced melody of flavors, ensuring an exquisite experience.
The Martinez Omelet was a triumph of culinary artistry, showcasing a perfect balance of textures and tastes. The ingredients were impeccably fresh, and the execution demonstrated a keen understanding of traditional Mexican techniques, elevated to a refined level.
The Rellenos was a gem—crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside, embodying the essence of a well-crafted dish that leaves a lasting impression on the palate.
While the tortillas were not homemade, which could have added an unparalleled touch of authenticity, the overall experience was nothing short of remarkable. Read moreHaving worked in the travel and hospitality industry for over 30 years, my consulting firm regularly prepares hotel & restaurant top 10 lists for clients around the world. I have lived in Pueblo now for more than 5 years and a week does not go by when someone asks me where the best food is in Pueblo. I quickly ask a few questions to narrow their focus and then offer my suggestions. The one establishment that always makes the top of my Pueblo-style breakfast list is the Martinez Cafe. In particular 'The Polk' is perhaps the most quintessential Pueblo dish with layers of flavors and textures and topped of with both red and green Pueblo chile sauce. Need I say more? The menu is extensive, the staff is extremely friendly and efficient and I love the local art accents throughout the restaurant, including Pueblo's most luxurious bathroom complete with a sitting area and local art...don't miss Daniel Luna's colorful torso next to the window. There is ample parking and if you should have to wait, enjoy the hallway and watch local Pueblo in action. If you want a taste of Pueblo, be sure to try Martinez Cafe on...

I have been a loyal customer for about two years and the food quality is always the same - fresh, delicious, and filling! Other reviews are correct, there is a "no cell phone" rule which I think is no problem, all they ask is that you do not have your phone ringing disturbing other customers, and do not talk on the phone while in the restaurant (step outside and take your call). This is a small venue so if you have customers talking on their phones or loitering, they can be serving other customers since they are busy from open...
