Well, I've always loved a slopper from the Sunset. My boyfriend, son and I went and had dinner and of course as usual I get the slopper with fries. So excited I take my first bite, delicious! When I get to my second bite it tasted like spoiled meat. Couldn't stand the taste, I grab a napkin and spit it out. I tell my boyfriend it tastes spoiled. He takes a bite and says it tastes fine, so I take another bite and instantly get the same spoiled taste. I again spit it out. When our waitress came to the table I told her very nicely that I didn't want to make it a big deal I just wanted to let them know that my hamburger in the slopper tasted spoiled. She then went and had a conversation with I'm assuming the owner and came back with the bill and said she had taken it off the bill. I told her normally I would just pay for it and leave but I wanted to make sure they are aware of the situation and they might want to check their meat. She replied very rudely with "we get our meat fresh everyday so I don't understand what the problem is" and walked away. Needless to say I will never return to this restaurant, not only did she make me feel like it was my fault their meat was spoiled but they couldn't even apologize. I'm grateful they took it off my bill but it goes so much deeper than that. It makes me sad because I've always loved the sunset but when it comes down to it this is not ok. I got sick from eating just the few...
Read moreSo... Here in Pueblo we tend to look at Facebook for recommendations.. for the best slopper in Pueblo it was recommended by a lot of people to come here and one other place I had not tried. So here's what I thought. Walking through the door was nice. Very clean. Decor was initially inviting and enjoyable. A Few tables had duck tape and chairs were kind of old and cracking so an update there is needed. As far as the food.. I thought it was great. I started with homemade taquitas which tasted frozen but yummy none the less. I ordered a slopper with both sides of the bun.(nice to have to option) and it came out warm, toasted and delicious. Green chili is obviously the most desired part and in this case it was no different .. the tomatoes made it pop. Not bad. The best in Pueblo? Probably not . But not a place you want to dismiss 😉 on to try the next spot! Ty for the...
Read moreOnce a month my coworkers and myself go to a restaurant after work to unwind. My coworkers get off at 5 but I don't get off until 6. I usually call my order in so that when I arrive my food is ready. Sunset Inn excelled in this aspect. It went downhill from there. I ordered the large slopper with fries which I found out later was a mistake. The slopper was good ( not outstanding) but got charged 3 dollars for a handfull of cold French fries that were from frozen not fresh made which was sadly disappointing. The waitress was personable but took way too long getting our tickets, to go boxes and payments. This was the first time that I have been to this "famous" restaurant but honestly don't have plans to return. Mainly because it cost me 20 dollars for one person to eat and the food and environment is better at other places in Pueblo and the...
