Ambience is fine. Waitress was nice enough. But the food and drinks were absolutely terrible!!!! My sister and I went tonight for our fathers one year anniversary of his passing. We are extreme foodies and go all over for a great meal. We have both been here a couple of times but not in over a couple of years. First, we got a wedge salad. Th bacon was old and chewy. But not the worst thing we ate. For our entrees, she got the blackened skillet sampler. It was so over salted that it was completely inedible. I got the lobster and shrimp scampi. The seafood did not taste fresh. The shrimp was undercooked. And the sauce was just off. We both had to send our entrees back. Which is something have maybe done one other time in my life. The waitress was surprised and asked if we wanted to try something else. We were very hesitant but decided to try something else. My sister was going to go with a burger to be safe. But she is gluten free. And they were out of gluten free buns and bread!! Something they really should v stocked with especially on a Friday night. There were limited GF options, so she ended up with the chicken. Curry. It was sweet, flavor was off, and just not good. She ate a few bites and gave up. I got the chicken tortellini on special. It was just edible enough, but tasted like jar sauce. And my chicken was not trimmed. Had some fat on it. On top of that, the drinks were awful. The ghost tequila drink was just sour mix and salt. The espresso martini was supposed to be creamy the way they have it advertised. But was a dark brown cloudy dirty color. The dirty martini was all olive juice. We had to send some back and ended up with wine. We did ask to speak to a manager just to provide our feedback. Nothing more. It was an older gentleman who was at the front desk that came over. He let us know that no owner was in sight. And asked what the issue was. We provided all our feedback. I said perhaps it's a new chef? He confirmed it's the same chefs theyve had for years and are no rookies. He seemed very defensive. We spoke about the curry and he mentioned that he gets it all the time and couldn't understand our issue with it. And that he never gets complaints on the entrees (which I find hard to believe). I simply left it at the fact that I guess it's his personal opinion and that we won't be back. Unfortunately I will never be back. I will never recommend. And I will be sure to let as many people know about about this. It's unacceptable. It's not about the money. It's about getting what you pay for. Our bill was $186.00. Which isn't much. Except we left hungry, upset, and not feeling great from the few bites we did have. Also they had no kids menu so I paid $18 for my 4 year old nephews Mac and cheese! We were given horrible food and drinks on an already particularly hard day. I suggest fresher products, new chefs, and less...
Read moreFox & Hound is not just a great restaurant… need to consider them for on-site catering!
Our company has an Open House event every year for our valued customers featuring a vendor product showcase and party. This year I was asked to look into the catering.
Not being from the area, I contacted my trusted concierge team at American Express for some suggestions. The Fox & Hound restaurant in Quincy came up as one of the recommendations. I made some calls and paused for a moment questioning “a restaurant” and immediately called, as my American Express team has not disappointed!
I was connected with Barbara Ray and Steve Cooper, who responded immediately and asked if they could visit, understand our vision and out of the gate they actively participated in generating ideas to make our event the best it could be! We went back-and-forth several times and selected a great menu that fit our theme. I felt like we were partners, and confident we made the right catering choice.
This past week it was SHOWTIME! Our theme was Prohibition and we turned our office into the “SWAG Lounge” (we're publicly traded on NASDAQ as SWAG). 250 guests enjoyed themselves listening to BT ALC Band, a 17 piece orchestra who helped set the stage for an amazing evening. Our guests enjoyed playing Blackjack, Texas Hold’em, Roulette and Craps and exchanged their tickets for a chance to win one of our highly coveted prizes!
In addition, as you can see by the menu, we had a raw bar, charcuterie table. hot and cold station and desserts from Fratelli’s. The Fox & Hound totally nailed the food and service! I also appreciate the initiative that Barbara and Steve took, outfitting their staff to fit our theme. Amanda, Alex, Brenna, Rachel, Dana, Jared, Riley, Carlos, Chris and Dennis were there providing optimum service to our guests. Everyone raved about the event, noting at every bite that the food was delicious!
What amazed me was how Barbara and Steve could take the Fox & Hound restaurant and bring it to life in an off-site environment, it could not have been any better!...
Read moreNormally, I would give this place 5 stars, but we had an awful experience on Mother's Day. First, there was an accident on the highway but we called ahead and warned that we would be between 5 and 10 minutes late. We were 8 minutes late. They gave away our table. Then we were asked to wait for another table to clear. There were several empty tables but we waited. They sat us, the staff person was very friendly and took our order at 3:45. Our food did not come until 5:20!!!! There were 3 of us in our party. People were being sat and fed and we were still waiting. People who came in after us were fed before we even saw our food. The waitress came to our table at 4:45 and apologized for the mix up and said our food was on the way out. It took another 35 minutes to get our food. When it came, the food wasn't seasoned, the shrimp scampi tasted like straight lemon juice, the lobster Mac and cheese had old freezer burned lobster. The French fries from the chicken fingers tasted like they were cooked in fish grease. What a TERRIBLE dinner. I understand the Mother's Day rush and complete busyness of the day, but the food should still be qualitative. They knew they were wrong so they offered us free dessert. Usually I love this restaurant, but this time around, it was a disappointment. Even the abbreviated menu options were not great. As far as ambiance, it is a comfortable, family friendly environment. The dimming of the lights make it a little hard to see the menu for those who have older, "seasoned" eyes. The regular menu has great options. I'd still recommend this restaurant, just not so much during a busy...
