Paid $30 for my son and i for a day pass as my friends are members and we wanted to go for a swim. I have been a member in the past and am considering buying a family membership in the future but I gotta say the price for a day pass me and my 9 year old was a little steep. however It’s a beautiful facility and we were so excited to go. The life guards were very nice, loved the two different pools however, the front desk associate seemed bothered that I was even asking to purchase a guest pass. I understand it’s tough working during covid. Trust me my job is also a front desk position so I understand that dealing with the public isn’t easy by any means so I try to be patient and kind but I truly felt like we were annoying her and didn’t feel very welcome. then we went into the family locker room and it was very slippery, wet and boardline “muddy” because of all the dirt and water mixed together. I understand it’s my fault for not bringing us sandals but it was very very slippery regardless. I let that go because there were over 60 people in the pool most likely but I thought when we got out (2 hours later) and went back to the locker room it would have been atleast mopped or cleaned. Maybe it’s a lost cause trying to keep the floor dry but seeing visible dirt on the ground was pretty gross when we were bare foot trying to change back into our street clothes. Just seemed a little irresponsible as we are still living through a pandemic and there were several women carrying babies in the room. Very slippery. Maybe get a carpet like I noticed the woman’s locker room has which would avoid the visible dirt. I’m sorry I don’t mean to be a jerk in anyway and I’m coming from a place of genuine concern. Thank you very much for having us. I think despite our experience it was still such a nice get away from the cold weather and had a blast. I definitely still plan to purchase a family membership but just remember even if we are just guests we are a potential client so we deserve the same decency...
Read moreI wouldn’t usually post a bad review, but the customer service here is undeniably abhorrent. My daughter was belittled during her gymnastics class, the course Director was somewhat apologetic, but when I asked to be refunded for the classes that she did not attend, not the full course mind you, for the classes that she did not attend, I was given a credit. I thought that I had processed my cancellation of membership correctly, and I just went about my business. I figured at some point I could use that credit for something else in the future maybe one of the kids wanted to take a overpriced soccer class with a bunch of teenagers, teaching, barely, but then decided against it.I reached out to the director Alexandra Fontes, and she was extremely rude, and told me that since I did not process my cancellation of membership correctly that the credits would go to my back payments. Mind you this was in July or June? It is now the middle of October. We haven’t been back, they refuse to refund me, and at this point, it’s really not about the money! It’s really about knowing exactly who you’re supporting, and how little they offer. Sidenote, my children took a swim class here last year, and the instructors were incredibly rude to my children! My children who have never swam, they also told my children that they couldn’t use the restroom and that they were big enough to hold it. I’m not exactly sure why these classes are overpriced, since they are not really taught anything, and this is coming from someone who has had YMCA memberships and three different states, and multiple times in my life. As a child I remember going to the YMCA and it was so much fun! The two facilities that I’ve experienced, including this one here in Massachusetts have been disgusting. Filthy, smelly, rude stuff. Do not waste your money! They do less good than what you...
Read moreRude staff: I was on the bike with my friend and one of the staff came over and said u guys can't hang out here if u want to hang out u have to go downstairs. We were working out. We were just a little slow because we just finished running and the effort level was really high so we did it slowly. This guy just came over and giving us a lecture. The same guy came over earlier because we were siting on The rope machine. I was working out and my friend was talking to me and he came and yelled at my friend. He was like " what are you doing? You can't bother her when she's working out." And now he's saying that we are hanging out when we were working out. Just because we were talking that doesn't mean that we aren't working out. He was also really rude to us. Never seen anyone like this at the y. Really disappointed about this. Does this mean that we have to constant work out when we are upstairs, so we can't even rest for a second. When he came over we were pedaling just a little slow cause the effort level was 25. He just came and said u guys can't hang here. Then I told him that we are working out but he was like no ur not, you guys are just hanging out here. He was rude and disrespectful. I think he's just picking on us. Some people sit on the machines but he doesn't say anything but when we were working out he came over and yelled at us. I think they should fix this. Even if we were siting on the machine as long as we weren't bothering other ppl it should be fine. There was like no one at the y so I don't understand why he came over and started yelling at us. And plus we were working out. We were pedaling slowly that's all. And we were using our phone at the same time but that doesn't mean we aren't working out. Really disappointed about this. This is...
